Eurodam is taking shape

Apparently it is complete.

That means, again based upon where the photo was taken from (and that can be determined based upon the windows behind the bar and the relative location of both), these chairs are sitting on the other side of the hall way from the sports bar, in the Casino. That's the reason why I asked.

My cousins in Italy went for a drive yesterday to Venice and rang me whilst driving on the autostrada to say hello.

I told them that the Eurodam was at Marghera in the Fincantieri Shipyards, which is just before you go over the bridge that leads to the car park ("tronchetto") where you catch the ferry to take you to Venice.

I asked them to go and look at the Eurodam and sent them a sms with the address of Fincantieri and this is the sms I got back:

"abbiamo visto la nave e bellissima e molto grande ti manderemo la foto"

"we saw the ship it is beautiful and very big we will send you the foto"

As they are joining us on the May 13 2009 leg of our 28 day cruise I was happy that they got to see what they would be sailing on.

Last Saturday a celebration was held for all the workers etc involved in the construction of the Eurodam.

Today (16th June) is the official handover day so I am looking forward to seeing some more pictures from the eurodam blog or Vereniging web site.

It seems like we have all shared in the construction and launching of what is in my mind a marvellous ship and I am sure that we all look forward in being able to sail on her.

Hey guys thanks for the latest pics.. I love the nightclub , will certainly be in there into the early hours !! The crowd that Im going with are party animals so will be a great venue to hang out in . Just one question, can you dress down in the nightclub and just wear trousers and a shirt??

Yes you can. If it's on a formal night, I'm sure you know that the cruise line requests/would like you to honor the dress code for the evening. Having said that, you see all kinds of dress in the bars and lounges including on formal nights.

Thats great , I would always respect and enjoy formal nights and do dress up. But when your on the dance floor at 11pm its nice to relax a bit :) I guess back to the cabin for a quick change into smart casual would not offend anyone.

"...and this shows where Mr Kruse refuses to pay for the Giant Condom Chandelier."

LOL!

Brian ... sometimes you're just NAUGHTY. ;)

I DARE you to ask him about it on July 1 ... or, during the cruise!!!

A view from above, looking down on the Magradome and the topside restaurant! Excellent!

Looks like topside, midships, is an ADDED place for sun worshippers!!! Imagine that ... NEW deck space to replace that stolen elsewhere!

No ... I don't think it can serve as a "topless deck" ... it's too close to Club HAL (which is just two decks bellow).

Another view from above, looking forward.

NOTE ... we can see the Cabanas here and, yes, indeed, there's access from bellow ... they've changed the deck plan and off-set the stairs.

You can also see the forward sky deck ... yes, indeed, it's available. :)

The topless deck survives...

I bet the first big storm or gale will rip the roof off at least some of those cabanas. They’re just glorified tents.

They must plan to partially dismantle them in bad weather.

Yesterday I saw about 30 photographs of the interior of the Eurodam and I will leave it to others to judge the decor and colour scheme but IMO it is not offensive but not exciting either and I am sure will garner a diversity of opinions

My DW loves the pool area because it is not "gaudy" and the rest of the interior looks fine.

The photogrraphs of one on the normal balcony cabin looks smaller than what I thought it would be however no other cabins were shown.

The friend (from an Italian cruise forum web site) was on board for the handover and took over 200 photographs.

Unfortunately I cannot post them here as he has a copyright on those photos and has asked me not to.

I am hoping that he may post some of his own accord soon.

All in all I think it is a marevellous ship and we are looking forward to sailing on her as I am sure most of you are.

I had stumbled upon the board you're referring to a long time ago Cristiano and saved a couple pics for my own personal desktop.

I just saw the new ones he posted and they look fantastic!

Do you know if any were taken of the Lido Pool Cabanas?

Thanks for the "hint"... It worked for me!

:D
