HI-

I just realized that I gave incorrect info on my report on 1610 on the Silhouette. On the view it should read, unobstructed out and FORWARD, could not see aft. (sorry I get my aft's and forward's mixed up all the time on the ships:o)

Ship: Silhouette

Cabin #: 8230

Deck #: 8

Class: 1A

Area: Starboard - Midship

Bed near: Bath

Quiet?: Very - even though Room Steward's cart was often in the hall directly outside.

Balcony view: Front and port side views.

Balcony size: Large - as it is an angled balcony.

Wind a problem?: Not at all!

Soot a problem?: no

Problems/comments: A great location near the midship banks of elevators but not too long a walk to the forward elevators. Would book this cabin again.

Ship: Equinox

Cabin #: 7104

Deck #: 7

Class: Oceanview

Area: as far forward as possible

Bed near: bathroom

Quiet?: Noone is walking by in that area except for your neighbours, so very quiet from that side. However, when docking/undocking, you hear loud mechanical noise (I didn't care, but others might).

Balcony view: window view, obviously: bow/heliport with crew bar underneath (noone was ever there), sea around - enjoyed watching where the ship was going to!

Balcony size: -

Wind a problem?: -

Soot a problem?: -

Problems/comments: This cabin is HUGE because of the angled window which gives lot of extra space. It is a really big rectangular window (not just a porthole) under which you can even stand quite good. I had two armchairs instead of a sofa, so one chair and the small table under the window made a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the view. The cabin had straight walls and seemed also slightly broader than the others (we did a CC cabin crawl). The TV/fridge/table thing was more or less between bathroom and bed, giving the cabin an "unused" corner near the window, so again: very much space. Being all the way forward, you sometimes felt the ship's/sea movement, which I liked. The only issue might be the docking noise as stated above. Maybe the same cabin location on deck 8 would be even more nice (higher above the heliport), but I'd take "my" cabin again in a minute!

ECLIPSE:

Cabin #: 9294

Deck #: 9

Class: Solstice

Area: MID SHIP/Starboard Side

Bed near: Bath

Quiet?: VERY

Balcony view: Clear to the AFT

Balcony size: LARGE

Wind a problem?: NONE

Soot a problem?: NONE

Problems/comments The balcony was on an angle and larger

than a regular balcony. Could not see all the way forward but

that did not matter to me. Clear to the AFT and down too.

Location of cabin is GREAT...literally a few steps from the

elevators and almost like in its own little foyer area.

Efram, cabin attendant very nice. Always keeping the cabin

spotless and this was my first time ordering room service for

breakfast. He delivered it promptly and always with a smile.

Really love this particular cabin.

I should have put 1A as my Class...Solstice would be the class of

ship. Stateroom category is 1A.

Ship: Solstice

Cabin #: 8285

Deck #: 8

Class: 1A

Area: mid ship

Bed near: Balcony

Quiet?: Very quiet - no sound from atrium even though we were very close

Balcony view: Can't see forward

Balcony size: Large balcony - first room on rear of bump

Wind a problem?: Not at all - on a windy day had lunch on balcony with no wind

Soot a problem?: No

Problems/comments: We were above the outdoor smoking area but 3 floors up. Sometimes I would smell smoke but did not see any smokers and it did not prevent me from enjoying the balcony.

Ship: Solstice

Cabin: 3107

Deck: 3

Class: Can't remember - outside cabin

Area: Midship - closer to forward

Bed near: Bath

Noise: Horrid. From what we were told by guest relations, cabin is above ships food waste processor. Mechanical sounds, loud splashes as they add water and grinding sounds at all hours, including middle of the night. Otherwise would have been a quiet cabin - no noise from other guests. Grinding in middle of night stopped when we asked what was causing the noise.

I just got off the Eclipse this past Saturday and I was very happy with my stateroom. Here are the details.

Ship - Eclipse

Deck - #7 Sunrise Deck

Cabin # - 7250

Class – 2A

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Bed near (balcony or bath) – bath on left hand wall of cabin near balcony

Quiet Cabin - No problems, very quiet cabin. Only heard my neighbours when on the balcony and sometimes when opening stateroom door.

Balcony View - Obstructed views when looking down as the lifeboats are below on Deck 6, but didn't bother us at all when sitting on the balcony.

Balcony Size - Normal

Was wind a problem - No

Any specific problems with this cabin- No problems. Everything was working and very clean.

Any other comments - Great location. Midship and short walk to stairs and elevators. Many complain about storage, but we found it to be more than adequate. Suitcases easily fit under the bed, lots of hangers in the closet, storage above the bed, 5 drawers and lots of places in the bathroom for all your toiletries.

Loved the stateroom. Loved the Eclipse :D:D:D

Ship: Equinox

Cabin #: 7311

Deck #: 7

Class: SV

Area: Stern

Bed near: Bath

Quiet?: Usually quiet, but VERY noisy when docking

Balcony view: panoramic view off the ship's stern

Balcony size: Standard size, more than adequate

Wind a problem?: no

Soot a problem?: Yes; deck was sometimes cleaned by staff, but we had to wipe clean the chairs, rail, and table every time we wanted to use them.

Problems/comments: The primary benefit to this cabin is the view. But we would not select a stern cabin again because of the significant (to us) disadvantages. Soot was biggest problem, followed by having only a tiny overhang (about 18 inches wide) which minimized privacy. The ship's engines noisily shook our cabin, almost violently, whenever we docked, which usually occurred around 6 or 7 AM. Not a pleasant way to wake-up. Finally, it is a considerable walk to an elevator. This was usually only a small incovenience, but it became annoying when trying to make a quick trip to buffet for a cup of coffee to bring back to cabin. Down the hallway, up in elevator, and into buffet; then back again with coffee in hand.

Ship: Silhouette

Cabin #: 1527

Deck #: 11

Class: AQ

Area: Mid/Fwd.Port side

Bed near: Bath

Quiet?: Very

Balcony size - Normal

Balcony view - Excellent

Wind a problem? - No

Soot a problem? - No

Comments:We love this forward section of AQ on the S-class ships, because there is no deep overhang, resulting in a sunny and unobstructed balcony. This cabin is midway between forward elevators and the relaxation lounge. Just one flight up steps to pool and AquaSpa cafe, or ride the elevator up to the Sky lounge for Elite events, or down to the Theatre. We don't mind walking to the other end of the ship for meals... sometimes it's the only exercise we get! ;) Nov 2011 the cabin steward was Jonathan and his assistant Francis, and both were excellent! Friendly, unobtrusive, and most accommodating.

Ship: Eclipse

Cabin #: 8256

Deck #: 8

Class: 1A

Area:starboard

Bed near: Balcony

Quiet?: Yes

Balcony view: Could not see forward

Balcony size: triple

Wind a problem?:no

Soot a problem?:no

Problems/comments: Convenient location just off aft elevator bank ,third stateroom off the hump aft section. We heard no noise from the elevators. Could not see forward but could see all the way to the aft end of the ship. Looking directly down you could see lifeboats but no obstructions . Balcony was probably triple size.Left side exiting stateroom approx. 15 feet long and right side about 12 feet long with width same as most .Would choose stateroom again.
