The standard martinis are above the classic package (which means you'd have to pay the entire amount). Occasionally, in the past, one of the bartenders would make you a smaller martini that would fit into the classic package. Haven't seen recently though. We get the classic beverage perk then use the OBC perk to upgrade to the premium drinks package & just don't worry about it

Martini bar prices are above Classic allowance. One drink there or in the Molecular Bar will pay for the upgrade to the Premium package, and then all drinks are covered, plus a better wine selection and top shelf waters. Upgrade!

by the way what did you think of food in main dining on the equinox in 2013?

On the Summit this March the bartenders would not make me any drinks- martinis or otherwise at the Martini Bar with my Classic Drink Package. They directed me to the Casino Bar.

On the Silhouette in March, there were only two smaller martinis covered under the Classic Package at the Martini Bar - you could get a small Cosmo or an Apple martini. You could, however, order whatever drink you wanted there (did not have to be a martini) like gin and tonic, rum and coke, etc and it was covered under the Classic Package.

With the Premium package the Martini bar was great. FYI only place on the ship if you want to get Titos Vodka.

we made a dash for the Martini bar when we boarded, the bartenders tolerated the 3 kids (8, 12, 12) playing on the bar top till it got crowded.

As you can see from my post above the 4x adults drank Moscow Mules for 3hrs at the Martini bar, they make mixed drinks no prob. We did have the Premium drink package if that was the question.

For my wife, I, and our friends, the premium package is a no-brainer.. 5x drinks a day and you break even... we were ... ummm lets just say "ahead" every day. Was also nice to grab a bottle of water at the end of the night to take back to the room.

Totally agree would not sail without "premium"

The MDR food was good in 2013, but better in 2014, especially the lamb. Our Eclipse this year really had some amazing entrees. Porterhouse steak (with tenderloin) that was twice as good as Tuscan.

So a straightforward classic martini { gin or vodka with a hint of vermouth ) is on the classic list at all venues except the "MARTINI" bar.?

The martini bar serves drinks in larger glasses. That's why even the included martini's aren't served in the martini bar.

On the other hand, they do have the regular smaller glasses and they could, if they wanted, make you the standard drink. On some ships, they'll do it, on others they won't.

Eclipse last Nov. We had the classic and drank classic martinis and other drinks at the martini bar. You could get Cosmos, Appletinis, and regular gin or vodka martinis. They are in smaller glasses like they serve all martinis in at the other bars and use the spirits that are in the classic package.

Best is to keep the classic and when on board decide if it is worth upgrading. If you can't get what you are after in the martini bar and feel it is worth paying the difference then go for it. There is no need or reason to pay in advance. Have read that the upgrade between the two will still remain the same even though there is a increase in the prices of the packages.

Drink up 🍸🍹🍷🍺🍷

That report was from the Eclipse. Every ship is different. My experience on the Constellation is they will only make the large martinis in the Martini Bar, and those are not covered with the Classic Package.

You can get a regular size martini at any of the other bars.

On Equinox last December, we noticed people could not order regular size martinis w/classic package.

We couldn't get a smaller martini under the classic package on the equinox last week.

We rarely went in the martini bar and did wonder if we'd been regulars, would we have got our request?

Who knows but I think it is very much ship, server and their mood dependent.
