I have only been on Carnival (7 times) looking at May 2018 thought I had decided on Carnival Sunshine but now I am considering Oasis. I think Oasis looks amazing as far as the ship but to me Sunshine has better ports plus Sunshine is 8 nights vs 7 nights on Oasis.....Your thoughts ????

As a frequent cruiser, most on Carnival, I would pick Oasis if the prices were comparable. I havent been on Sunshine, but cruised Destiny twice. I don't care for the "new" Sunshine layout from what I've seen online. That's only my opinion though!

Happy Cruising!!

I've been on the Sunshine twice, and both times there were problems that made me wish I picked another ship. It didn't ruin the cruise, but I promised not to sail on her again. The Oasis is another story, and in a class by herself, along with the other ships in this class. I've never booked another cruise onboard a ship, but I did while on the Oasis for the Oasis again since it was coming to Port Canaveral. My choice would be the Oasis hands down. I've sailed more times on Carnival than Royal, and like each like equally, but when it comes to the Oasis class ships, I have to choose Royal. Hope this helps.

I agree. I've been on several Royal ships starting with the Explorer, the Freedom, and last the Oasis. I almost wanted to jump ship from Carnival after cruising on the Explorer, but I chose to travel on both cruise lines for something different, or different experiences.

I have been on Carnival 15 times and once on Oasis and once on Allure. Oasis is truly amazing. You have to try it at least once in a lifetime.

Absolutely the Oasis. We did the Sunshine and have been on many different Carnival ships and a few RCI including the Allure. The entertainment was exceptional on the Allure! Yes you do pay more but it was worth it for the experience for sure in my opinion! But back to more affordable cruises for us - trying the Magic next and I'm pretty excited about that! But you will love the Oasis!.

I am not a RCI fan. Also, we do not cruise for the ships but for the ports. Sunshine is our favorite ship by far and I would take 8 days over 7 any day.

If you are a ship person then try Oasis and with all its bells and whistles. Otherwise, I would pick sunshine.

If you are really trying to choose between ships, Oasis will win. But as AJ pointed out, you are trying to decide between a ship "Oasis" and an itinerary "Sunshine". How much better do think the ports are?

As you can tell, ship to ship, the Oasis is quite a bit better.

Hey either way your going on a cruise. Better than working.

Any reason you don't like RCI? Did something happen on your RCI cruise 17 years ago?

Everyone is leery of the Sunshine because of some people , who are mad about a financial issue with Carnival, or a trivial matter, and NOT ALL are trivial, but most are,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,we have been on Sunshine twice. Booked for next summer.

Hope we make it.

The Sunshine is a grand ship. Very nice AFFORDABLE Chinese and Hispanic restaurant. Great Activity staff. ALWAYS something fun going on. ON RCI..........unless you are a world class athlete...........suck it up. One game of trivia a day. Not much to do. been there. done that. Not again.

Happy Sails which ever you cruse. And we are Platinum on Princess. Carnival... Sailed a bit. LOVE Sunshine. LOVE Port Canaveral

at age 70,,,,,,nothing to do on sea days. do not climb walls. do no zip line on ship. hard to find anything. discovered Studio B the day before we got off ship

. food was bad

staff great

service very good

had to make reservations to see a show. LINES are humongous

NOTHING TO DO IF NOT AN ATHLETE

Casino was better. Won a little

SUNSHINE one drawback---------they need another pool. but we don't get in sun much as live in FL and get too much sometimes. USE sunscreen . We have 2 fair skin relatives who developed Melanomia due to not using it. Both were survivors. Lots of new treatments but still.........................lather up.

Sunshine has horrible reviews. I would pick Oasis by a mile. Even if it cost a little more its well worth it! Oasis class ships are amazing. If you're in it for the ports then find another Carnival ship. Good luck!

Sunshine.

It has tons of included food options; and two cheap and wonderful extra fee dinner restaurants (JiJi's and Cucina's). The ship is in great shape and easy to navigate around. And so many places to see the water and actually feel like you're on a cruise. Plus the beds and bedding on Carnival are great - couple all of that with an 8 day cruise with a better itinerary - it's a slam dunk.

I have done the vacations where I needed a spreadsheet to track where and when we were supposed to be; that's one of the things I love about cruising - not having to make solid plans months before the trip. I have no desire to cruise on one of the monsters of the seas and have to go back to the colour-coded, laminated, pre-booked, pre-planned, "please tell me you put in bathroom breaks" spreadsheet days of vacations.

I think this one is easy. I would pick Oasis.

NOTHING TO DO IF NOT AN ATHLETE

What exactly is there to do for non-athletes on Sunshine that's not on Oasis? I ask sincerely.

Are you answering for yourself or for A & J? Maybe in 9 years when I hit 70 I won't like the Oasis class anymore either, but until that time I enjoy it just fine. Will be on our 3rd Oasis class ship next April.

Amber Teka enjoy your next cruise.:)
