  1. One thing that has occurred to me is this: wouldn't it be nice if the cruise ship had a system where you could download a book without using your internet or wifi. They would have access to many digital books for your use while you are onboard. Not all of us have internet while sailing. Just a random thought.
  2. I'm usually feeling a bit jiggy on the day of embarkation, and sometimes harried and drained. Lunch with others, on that day, is not high on my priority list. Actually, my first thought is to go make dinner reservations and grab a drink at the bar. There you have it. But, back to the OP, if you want to have lunch with others, just arrive early as others have noted.
  3. I see alot of reading while on vacation. I've even seen people bring their local library books on cruises! I think a loaded kindle suits me just fine, but it's welcoming to see library books onboard now. Libraries are one of the last free things we enjoy in society, and who doesn't enjoy a fresh new book?
  4. Really enjoying your postings and hope to do what you are doing someday. So much travel! Awesome.
  5. Hence, another thread... the insider's guide to gambling! I can't wait.
  6. Bickering old couples and seniors who manage to stay upright with canes and sticks and walkers. Oh man, you are way too rough. Someday, you too, will be old, so be kind.
  7. If I had any friends who want to cruise, I would do this. Sad to say, I don't. I mean, I have friends, but they go camping and do all that. I have no interest in sleeping near gators or bears, or snakes, yuck, so we cruise sometimes.
  8. I love the older people on cruises. Now, they know how to dance. Got all the moves and they are so much fun to watch.
  9. I never saw a 4 or 5 star line either, but then, I never really felt that I was a high priority in line anyway. If I needed to get some euros, or dollar bills or tell them that I had a leaky cabin, I felt it was ok to stand in line like every one else. Humble maybe, but I feel free to push forward in any situation if there is a true emergency. Thankfully, that is not the case when I am on a cruise.
  10. The food cooking demos with samples given afterwards. Such funny hostesses/hosts! Loved every one and never missed these funny shows. So entertaining.
  11. Well, the dog food remark won't really help when you talk to someone, because nobody will believe you. Where do you dine normally? Free cruise and you are ticked off? This must be a joke.you are familiar with kraft Mac n cheese and hungry man frozen dinners for comparison purposes. Got it. Well done.
  12. Yes, that's the pits. Drove us to any other restaurant but there. Can't hear yourself think with the noise, although maybe I should consider that a blessing once in awhile.
  13. Incredibly sad situation for Israel. Prayers for all.
  14. I must be comatose because I never paid attention to the fact of an additional entrée. Well, I don't eat pork cheeks, so not all is lost haha. I must have been drinking. I hope so. Usually the fine recommended wines on the ship. Lol.
  15. Sorry weird add of 24th. Whatever that means. Savor the moment?
  16. Oh, I forgot. It's orange!!! I actually like a little less bling to my presence on a cruise ship. Kinda like blending in . Like I am an aging starlet or something lol. 24th
  17. The best part is that it has a zipper. I got two on my back to back in Feb., but I haven't used the bags since, sad to say. I know I will, someday. I seem to have collected millions of canvas totes for trips to the market and don't need the zipper then. The really great thing about Club Orange is the small dining room with great staff. I didn't even use it for an upgrade and we are already priority boarding, but I really love the quiet little place to dine on the ship. Makes for fine dining, in my opinion. Of course, on the ship, it's all fine dining to me.
  18. Like many of you, I always loved the wide promenade decks with the napping lounge chairs. Oh,, they are wonderful to lounge around and view the ocean and read, but ultimately they are the best kept secret for a fine mid-day nap.
  19. My very favorite cabin steward was on NS last Feb. and he was an older gentleman. We were in an Oceanview cabin on Main deck. He never asked us what we wanted. He just did the 2x daily. Loved him...yes, he received a gift from us cash. What a love he was.
  20. First of all, I am so excited for you on your cruise!! I would bring them, what's the hassle. We are getting behind on our covid shots and not wanting them either with all the side effects sorry. We had them. And had covid 2x. But, enjoy your fun time ahead! We are probably going to book a European trip tomorrow and I know I am in heaven tonite!!!
  21. I can't help you on that but anyone dear to you is easily referenced by D to start.. For dear. I call them beloved but that's me. My small circle.
