Staying overnite in nassau

Just got email for carnival valor not going to freeport staying overnite in nassau does the ship stores and casino stay open while in port the whole time in nassau.

Not likely.

Good question, and a tricky one too because normally while in port the stores and Casino is closed. So not sure how it works on an overnight in Nassau, I would call Carnival.

Theres always Atlantis Casino on Paradise Island.

In December, the casino opened up a few hours earlier when at Nassau. We were still docked when the casino opened, so it IS a possibility.

While docked, do NOT expect the casino to be opened. Or, shops.

I recall it open but not all night.

Wish they could find someplace else to go to than another night in Nassau

Crap I hope they don't do that to us on our Nov. 10 cruise...I don't want an overnight! :rolleyes: No casino=early bedtime...I mean seriously don't they warn us not to be out at night there? :rolleyes:

Apparently Nassau has excess capacity so they can overnight there. Kind of surprised the ship doesnt go back out to sea so they can open up the casino.

We are in the same boat... pardon the pun. We are very bummed to have an overnight. I'd prefer just another sea day. No casino at night is a big bummer for us. I can't just go to Paradise Island as we have kids and they can't join. Nor would I leave them on the ship w.o. me.

I was trying to think of anything fun one could do with a night in Nassau... Anything?

We just got off the Elation and they opened the shops and the casino in the evening, even though we stayed overnight.

Did an overnight in Bermuda once. Ship had a big party by the pools that night. Everyone was still buzzing about it the next morning. Probably Carnival will do the same. Of course, the last time I was in Nassau pretty late we were partying in Senor Frogs until well past midnight!

I'm thinking it depends on what arrangements they make with the port authority in Nassau.

It's possible they can only open the casino in port on ships registered/flagged in the Bahamas. No way Carnival wouldn't open the casino in port, at least at night when most people are back onboard, if they could do so legally.

The shops will open after the shops in Nassau close.

Just off the Ecstasy. We overnighted in Nassau last Wed/Thu. The casino did open at either 6 or 7 pm.. Not sure about the shops though.

Off Valor yesterday. Shops stayed closed. Casino opened at 7pm
