Footnote: This morning, it took a [very long] while for CBP to clear the ship for disembarkation. The gangway did not open until 8:00. From where we were in line in the casino (by the chandelier) it took about 25 minutes to get to the gangway when the line started moving Then another 15 minutes to get to the curb (now around 8:40 am against or plan of 7:30).

You bring your towels from the ship. There are no towels on the island.

Cover is per person for food (what ever you want).

Yup. Limited hours. More people hang out at the Sunset bar on the waterfront (deck 8).

Thank you for taking so much time out of your vacation to create this wonderful blog! Will they allow you to take your platinum bottle of wine back to your room to drink later or do you have to drink it in the Le Bistro?

we have always been able to have ours sent to our room unopened so we arent lugging it around all night. very handy!

Although we are not going on a Western Caribbean cruise next, we will be on the Getaway and your day-to-day travel log was so detailed with descriptions, photos, attachments, etc that I have bookmarked it to use as a resource for the Getaway. Let me add to this: I found the food quality at Margaritaville to be very high - definitely well above buffet level and worth a splurge or use it as an early dinner. But go hungry! The appetizers are huge and each person can order an appetizer, entree and dessert. It's way more food than most of us eat at a sitting! Oh, and there are some unique drinks here so don't miss that either.

Thank you for your detailed report with great pictures!! It takes a lot of time and effort so greatly appreciated! Enjoyed reliving our first NCL cruise on the Getaway last year. Downside is I'm now overexcited and even more impatiently waiting for #2 on the Breakaway 10/2.

I noticed that the menu in the dining room doesn't seem to change much. I am fairly new to NCL cruising, and most of the lines I have sailed on has a different menu each night in the MDRs.

Am I just looking at the same menu over and over, or do they not change from night to night?

There are some items that are standard for every night, then others that are unique to each night.

are the margarita's at margaritaville pre-mixed or are they made to order?

Trying hard to remember after having several... It was definitely not all made up ahead in a large glass jar like the drinks at the pool bar and atrium.

It was put together in front of me but they had some containers of something mixed ahead for each flavor. For example, the watermelon margarita had a plastic jug of watermelon mix used to add to the tequila and lime juice.

Love your review. Can you tell me more about the game cards? I would like to be able to visit the arcade without having to worry about the price. I looked on Norwegian's website and I couldn't find anything about an arcade package. Do I have to wait until we are on board? Also, would we just go to guest services? I believe I read on your review that the cost was $10.00 per person per day. Thanks again. We sail on 9-2-18 and are looking forward to it.
