RHilla619 Posted March 14, 2018 #6 Share Posted March 14, 2018 The above is correct, the mini fridges on Carnival are now empty from the get go. Nice to store waters, white wine, etc. in.
firemanbobswife Posted March 14, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 14, 2018 Yep. Empty upon boarding.
Kamloops50 Posted March 14, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 14, 2018 Contact room service to remove the contents of the bar. Room attendants aren't supposed to do it.
firemanbobswife Posted March 14, 2018 #9 Share Posted March 14, 2018 Contact room service to remove the contents of the bar. Room attendants aren't supposed to do it. Yes they are exactly the ones that used to do it. Room service had nothing to do with it. It was the Room Stewards on Carnival. However, it’s not necessary any more as they are all completely empty as previously stated.

cccer Posted March 15, 2018 #12 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Not that I would call it a fridge. A cooler is more like it. Unless they have upgraded them, they do not keep anything very cold. If I get some beer from Bon Voyage, I always bring a collapsible cooler and ask the steward to fill it up with ice. It usually gets filled twice a day and keeps them very cold. Keep the cabinet door open and it works like a champ. All my stuff gets ice cold.
rpyne Posted March 15, 2018 #14 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Keep the cabinet door open and it works like a champ. All my stuff gets ice cold. Good point. If it can't breath to get rid of the heat, it can't cool the inside.
Shaded Lady Posted March 15, 2018 #15 Share Posted March 15, 2018 I found that the fridges were barely effective on the older Carnival ships. However on my last cruise on the Breeze, the fridge did a great job of keeping the soda & water quite cold! I ended up only needing the ice the steward provided to fill up my Tervis so I could add Crystal Light to water...
n6uqqq Posted March 15, 2018 #16 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Carnival removing the goods from the fridge is a win win. Now we don't have to handle all those disgusting cans/bottles that have been handled a million times from people taking them out of the fridge. And Carnival saves on their ever so precious labor.
