Rare PTC DAWG Posted March 7, 2018 #26 Share Posted March 7, 2018 How much do they charge folks for a stupid stunt like this? I have been on a ship with drinks flowing, I can’t imagine going over the side.
bluehawks47 Posted March 7, 2018 #27 Share Posted March 7, 2018 She is very lucky that they were so quick to respond. Glad everything ended well. We are leaving this Saturday on the Epic... hopefully, it's more families on Spring Break. What is the "adult" age for Spice H2O?

We were told (just got off the Epic) the next 4 weeks will be exactly like this cruise, where at least 1/2 of the passengers will be College Kids! Dany6 Posted March 7, 2018 #32 Share Posted March 7, 2018 We were also on this cruise, and got onto Deck 15 just as people were still trying to hold onto her through slats in the glass, then she fell. We were told she climbed over on Deck 16, made her way down to 15, that's where she fell from. We didn't actually see her but were told she wasn't a spring breaker, that she was older than that. JennaMae oh no, we board on 3/17! We were on a ship the first week on June and I guess a lot of college kids got cruise for graduation....my grandkids could not get in pools or on water slides because of drunk college kids! Glad kids aren't going to be with us.

Victorious8 Posted March 7, 2018 #35 Share Posted March 7, 2018 I’m 29 and like to party a lot. Their behavior generally didn’t bother me - it was jus the sheer numbers of them overwhelming things that was frustrating. In the day it was the pools/hot tub and at night it was the casinos etc. I never even attempted to go to Bliss. The bar service was actually as bad as people say it is sometimes (I never experienced that on Escape or Dawn). Many servers/staff would only allow you one drink at a time/per card which isn’t the norm. The only perk was sometimes people thought I was one of them so it made me feel like I looked younger. But then again I think some stuff would purposefully not give us drinks cause they assumed we were with them. I had a great time with my friends but I felt like I had to keep making excuses and explaining it wasn’t like this most of the time. I definitely will never book again anytime close to this. I didn’t realize schools had spring breaks so early. Mine were always around st. Patrick’s day. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Aquahound Posted March 7, 2018 #36 Share Posted March 7, 2018 Given that it is not spring break for everyone across the country and that this boat was marketed to spring breakers, there is a definite responsibility on behalf of NCL to have let non spring breakers be aware that this ship was marketed as such. My husband and I have been on over 20 ncl cruises, many of them music cruises, and we have never seen anything like this. My kids couldn't even access the pool through the entire duration. My 14 year old tried climbing in to a hot tub at one point and a fight broke out between the spring breakers warranting security to intervene. We couldn't enjoy our balcony because drunken people were screaming "land ahoy" at all hours, smoking weed, blasting music, and throwing things over board. This is in addition to the multiple bathrooms we went in that were laden with vomit. We had a great time, but are very disappointed in NCL. I'm very careful about what cruise lines I book, and when. What you just said is exactly why I will never book NCL, Carnival or Royal Caribbean during the month of March, unless it's a cruise of at least 10 days. Vacationdreamer<>< Posted March 7, 2018 #38 Share Posted March 7, 2018 Not trying to be technical, but there were many many spring breakers, all from Florida. Either way, none of them acted responsibly or respectfully. So let me correct myself since everyone likes to correct someone~ ~like it matters ~ to say COLLEGE STUDENTS FROM FLORIDA I knew exactly what you had meant... Florida Cruiser 1965 Posted March 7, 2018 #39 Share Posted March 7, 2018 WhatEVER..... To all I am here at the Port and have first hand knowledge from several reliable known NCL sources, that is incident was not "college kids" related or anything to do with spring break and how dare NCL this or that. It was a 52yr old woman distraught about family issues. She was drunk but no different than any other cruises that she could have been on and was not the reason of the incident. I would suggest knowing facts, other than that you were on the cruise before we lay blame. It is a miracle she was found, and alive and leave it at that for the privacy of the family. Two Wheels Only Posted March 7, 2018 #41 Share Posted March 7, 2018 I am here at the Port and have first hand knowledge from several reliable known NCL sources,... Do you see the misnomer? It was a 52yr old woman distraught about family issues. She was drunk but no different than any other cruises that she could have been on and was not the reason of the incident. Yes, she WAS the reason for the incident.....the overboard incident. It is a miracle she was found, and alive and leave it at that for the privacy of the family. You've already given her age, that she was drunk, and why she "fell"....so much for privacy.

Victorious8 Posted March 7, 2018 #44 Share Posted March 7, 2018 I knew basically the entire time she was not a spring break kid and that the two things were not likely to be related (although maybe she got drunk to deal with the annoyances). It just was also posted in here. Lessons learned, no idea it was a spring break cruise and now I know no time near spring is safe. Glad no one else died, although I did see a passed out girl being wheel-chaired off the pool deck yesterday. I’m sure there were more. Glad no one died. Dany6 Posted March 7, 2018 #45 Share Posted March 7, 2018 A 52yo woman climbed over the rail from deck 16 down to deck 15 and then over the rail on 15 (I presume headed to 14) because of family issues? What, they told her she couldn't use the elevator?[/q After going over the rail on 16, below that Deck 15 in that area is floor to ceiling glass with open slats, that could be used to climb down a bit...from the outside of the ship

Although it sounds more like she was trying to throw herself overboard than being drunk and falling. Most of those rails are way too high for a typical accident. JennaMae I have to say, this was my family’s first and last cruise with NCL. We encountered so many logistical issues... now mix in a bunch of drunk kids (from Florida, no less) and the entire trip was more stressful than relaxing. By the time we got off the ship this morning, my husband, 7-year old son and I would have given just about anything to be anywhere but there. What a waste of our hard-earned money. NCL, we gave you a shot. Now Back to Royal Caribbean!

Mistizoom Posted March 8, 2018 #50 Share Posted March 8, 2018 Was this Epic cruise a week long cruise or shorter? I'm about to go on my third spring break cruise on Saturday (Escape) and I've encountered more elementary kids than college-aged spring breakers. I kind of hope to avoid them since I work at a University and it may remind me of work!
