hew2nd Posted September 13, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2011 Recently I asked for recommendations for restaurants in Ft. Lauderdale for a pre-cruise dinner. Many people responded with excellent recommendations. I've gone online and searched for info on them and compiled a list of those restaurants along with their web pages. Hopefully those interested will find this helpful. · Aruba in Lauderdale By the Sea http://www.arubabeachcafe.com/menu.htm · Kelly's Landing - 17th Street http://www.kellyslandingseafood.com/menu.html · · Old Florida Seafood House http://oldflaseafood.com/index.html · Chuck's Steak House, of which there are three http://www.chucksflorida.com/ · Bravos Italian, next to the Renaissance. http://www.bravoitaliano.com/ · Old Florida Seafood House http://www.oldflaseafood.com/ · Rustic Inn http://www.rusticinn.com/ · Bimini Boatyard http://biminiboatyard.com/ · Canyon Southwest Café http://www.canyonfl.com/ · Cafe Sharaku http://cafesharaku.com/ · The Blue Moon Fish Company http://www.bluemoonfishco.com/ · Truluck's http://trulucks.com/pages/ft-lauderdale-florida · Serafina http://www.serabythewater.com/ · Anthony's Runway 84 (State Road 84, north of FLL airport) http://www.runway-84.com/ · Casa D'Angelo (Federal Hwy (US1) just north of Sunrise Blvd) http://www.casa-d-angelo.com/fortlauderdale.htm · Bistro Mezzoluna, http://bistromezzaluna.com/ · Big City Tavern, http://www.bigtimerestaurants.com/ · Bimini Boatyard, http://biminiboatyard.com/

royalcruz Posted September 14, 2011 #5 Share Posted September 14, 2011 IMO, Chuck's and Old FL Seafood House are really boring and old-fashioned...The food is ok, but I wouldn't waste vacation time eating there unless that is what you are looking for specifically... The rest of the list is filled with good choices.

gracecarmo Posted February 7, 2012 #11 Share Posted February 7, 2012 Looking at the list here, we decided to try 15th St Fisheries Dockside. Do we need to make reservations? We will be there on a Sunday evening. I looked on the web site and there is no where to make a res, have to call?
sherilyn70 Posted February 13, 2012 #12 Share Posted February 13, 2012 For those with access to a car who would like a fun way to start off their vacation, I would recommend the Mai Kai restaurant. it was a lot of fun to watch the dinner show and the food and service was good. It's more of a celebration/special occasion place and not your every day place to eat, I imagine it would get old fast if you went there often. While we were there, they announced 4 honeymooners (including us), 2 anniversaries and about 10 birthdays (including a 90 year old).
KirkNC Posted February 13, 2012 #13 Share Posted February 13, 2012 I would add Sette Bello to the list: http://settebellofla.com/

I went there about 45 years ago when I lived in Miami. It was one of the in places back then.

We plan to eat at 15th Street on April 6 prior to our Constellation cruise on the 7th. I have had great reviews from my RCL rep whose husband eats there frequently. She said great food, and by the water too.

royalcruz Posted March 4, 2012 #19 Share Posted March 4, 2012 Hi - We are having a night at the Hilton FLL Beach Resort (me, wife, 4 year old daughter) and are after any recommendations for a good qualify / value seafood restaurant within walking distance for an evening meal. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks I'm not sure there is good qualify / value seafood restaurant that would meet your criteria within walking distance to Hilton, but here is the closest to your criteria. You can walk to Coconuts, about a mile or less south, on A1Asouth/Seabreeze. It's probably the best seafood in the area without being expensive. If you want something really casual, Lulu's Bait Shack is in Beach Place but has more of a bar atmosphere (about a half mile south). If you walk a block past Beach Place you will come across the Margarita Cantina Crab & Seafood House. I found the food and service there dreadful. HAPPY TRAVELER 1951 Posted May 16, 2012 #22 Share Posted May 16, 2012 My wive and I spent the night before our cruise in Ft Lauderdale, Fl. We arrive on a Friday afternoon. It was a special aniversary celebration for us. We had try to made a reservation for dinner that night and was told they do not take reservation. After trying with person who answered phone, I asked for the manager and was transfered to the manager who was named BOB. He said since it was a special occasion, he would reserve us a table. When we got there, indeed there was a reserved table for us. The food that we order was by far the best we have had in a long time. The music from the band was also very good. Bob later found out we were ther at the restaurant and came by the table and introduced himself and talked to us for a while. Later he had sent over a desert to our table and did not charge us for it. Not only is this a great restaurant with great food, but it has a very good manager who does a good job of seeing things are done right and the food is outstanding. If you stay the night before going on cruise in Ft Lauderdale, you must try this restaurant as you will not find a better place to eat and have entertainment and be right by the ocean. ciera123 Posted June 22, 2012 #24 Share Posted June 22, 2012 (edited) We loved Casablanca so much, we ate there both nights we were at the W after our cruise. It looks like it was probably a residence in past days and is a very unique place with wonderful food and great service! Can't wait to return in June. A1A between Las Olas and Sunrise...:) Edited June 22, 2012 by ciera123
TheWulf Posted July 9, 2012 #25 Share Posted July 9, 2012 Do not miss Southport Raw Bar: http://www.southportrawbar.com/ Cheesy website aside, this is the best seafood I ever had. Must try the clam chowder and the cajun shrimp. Oysters are fantastic too. We're going back in December and can't wait...
