cc home page, anyone go there any longer?

hi, since cc 'improved' its home page, i don't begin there any more; i just go straight to the message boards. fast flashes of 'topics,' etc. don't interest me. once in a while the 'poll.' but otherwise, just to be boards. how does anyone else here react to the new 'home page.' and, of course, HAPPY NEW YEAR. father doug

I haven't seen it. My computer has the HAL forum URL set in my "favorites", so I come directly here.

When I want to check other forums I use the "jump" feature at the lower right corner of this page.

Everything else is extraneous as far as I'm concerned. Now, if only those extraneous "announcements" and "stickies" could only be reduced, too....

As more people come here directly, the CC folks will most likely respond by putting lots of ads on the boards.

yes, that should solve the problem, alright. but i suppose we have to pay for this in some way. i just 'voice' my objection by not going to the home page; what more can i or anyone else do?

My saved page is the HAL forum so I don't go to the opening Cruise Critic page. I have looked at it but really don't have an opinion one way or the other.

I very very seldom go to the CC Home Page. I think I might have been there once in the past year, and then it was only to see the new changes made to it.

 

It is easier in my opinion to navigate the new Home Page of CC, but I have no need to go there because I keep both the HAL Board and the Disabled Cruise Travel Book Marked and the HAL board is the first place I come:)

 

If I want to write a review, I just click on the Notice: IRL_Joanie, just back from your cruise?....... So again, no need to visit the home page.

I have shortcuts to both on my desktop (HAL and CC main page), as well as the Roll Call forum. I very rarely "visit" the CC main page.

But now I see it is very clear to get around.

No, not since the "improvements". I've bookmarked the message boards and rarely, if ever, look at the home page anymore.

I haven't been to the home page in so long I can't remember when. Years. My favourite cruise line forums are bookmarked and I go straight there. Sometimes I read a review, if there is a link for it.:o

I used to look at because I enjoyed reading the featured reviews. Now however I just go directly to the HAL forum. I liked the old format better.

I have the Boards in my Favorites so I rarely go to the Home page. I go directly to the Forums.

I guess I am a renegade. I go to the home page and check the news and then a quick scan to see if there is anything else of interest. Just a brief stop on the way to the boards.

It's been a long time, if ever, when I started at the home page. As soon as I type a "b" into the address bar (for boards.cruisecritic.com), my cache gives me a lot of options including the forums I typically visit (HAL,Crystal,Cunard,Royal). I'll usually start with the choice that says "viewsubscriptions" and work from there.

The news articles are now hidden in a drop box, so I hardly ever look at anything on that page.

I used to go to the home page for news and reviews but since they changed it I go directly to the boards. Didn't they ever hear of if it is not broke don't fix it?
