Looking forward to another of your real-time cruise reports.

So it appears are many others, with rate of about 100 views per hour so far.

You said "There’s also a Panama Canal Facts and Fiction lecture at 8:15 in the Universe Lounge." Isn't it unusual to have a lecture on embarkation evening?

Smooth sailing!

Hi Pia. Thanks for posting live from the Coral! Looking forward to reading more posts as you sail along.

Congratulations on your upgrade from Obstructed View Guarantee all the way to a Mini! Awesome! We got a nice upgrade on our recent Sapphire cruise...from Obstructed View Guarantee to a Balcony. Sure made us happy as I know you and Mike are about your upgrade.

We only brought on two bottles of wine on our Sapphire cruise out of San Pedro. Good for you bringing on a case with no problem!!!! Should always be that way for sure!

Best regards.

JJ

Good morning everyone on this Sunday morning at sea with weather forecast of sun and only a high of 66 degrees. Sunrise was at 6:00 AM and since we sleep with our drapes open, it definitely woke me earlier than expected. Not so Mike. He can sleep through anything and anywhere. :)

Last night we didn’t do much of anything except meeting several staff, crew and passengers that we had previously cruised with. In fact, we met someone with whom we played trivia several years ago and we will again join her and the rest of her team tomorrow. She is on a B2B and was #2 most traveled on the last cruise. Her friends were #1 and they are still here. As of now, unless someone else shows up, we are #3.

On board this morning are various introductions on how to give Princess your money. Welcome aboard and let us tell you about shopping, jewelry, spa services, etc. Introduction to casino, first bingo of the cruise, etc. You get the idea. For us it will be trivia and our M and G. And maybe even a martini demo.

In the afternoon there’s Spanish @ Sea for Beginners, port talk by Bill Keene (whom I mentioned yesterday) “Dreams & Nightmares”, the movie Premium Rush on MUTS again, the movie Beasts of the Wild in the theater and Pop Choir sign up. So many things; so little time. ;) Yes, I will peek into the choir and see if the songs have changed. I heard they may have and in that case I could possibly be singing again.

Tonight’s MUTS movie is one that we really want to see; “Jack Reacher.” Lee Child is one of Mike’s favorite authors (Jack Reacher for those who don’t know is the main character of all his books), and we’ve been looking forward to this movie. However, we won’t know whether or not we can survive the outdoors; it’s supposed to be a bit cool. Indoor entertainment will be the production show What a Swell Party in the theater and vocalist Pamala Stanley in the Universe Lounge. Crooners piano entertainer is Brad Stevens and the Argo Trio is in the Wheelhouse.

I;m so happy to see so many "old" friends already here. I can always count on you. :D Still in our cabin and ready to go to the gym. Later.

Pia, you can count on Lew and I to sail along with you while drinking our morning coffee.

Have fun. Glad you found a trivia team.

Let me know what the cutoff date is for most traveled luncheon.

Us lowly well traveled are beginning to make some of those on the shorter cruises.

Your pal G:D

I hope you and Mike have a marvelous cruise. Caryn and I are really looking forward to seeing both of you in September when we embark on our Royal Princess adventure. Good health and happiness to both of you!

Spanish at sea? I have never seen that but would do it in a heartbeat. Is it often offered on the Panama Canal cruises?

Thanks for the info about the wine. Keep us posted about boarding wine at ports of call and, most important of all, have a wonderful cruise.

There were several offerings of Spanish language lessons on the Star in February. I thought it might be because it was a South American route. :)

They were offering it on the Island last week during the Panama Canal.
