Quantum Keel Blocks are in the House!

LOL! Who knows you may have just gave them an idea for Anthem to show differentiation:). Now what will replace the bear on Anthem and then Ovation?

Maybe they can have the backside of the bear with the front of the hotdog truck sticking out of it

From the deck 12 plans looks like the first few cabins forward near the bridge may be reserved for the crew. Perhaps the Captain and other Senior Officers.

They Usually are. If you have ever done a Bridge tour, there are quite a few cabins behind the secured area that leads to the bridge. Senior Officers and also usually the Cruise Director and the Concierge have rooms in that area. They get much better rooms than the general staff who are below decks

Not much can be done in those areas were the lifeboats are with such narrow space. Good for a nice walk. While the lifeboats may take up premium space on the promenade we cannot lose sight of the big improvement in safety it is by them being there.

Why is this an improvement in safety? The reason for doing this is just to be able to squeeze in more balconies. Lifebosts still have to be lowered to promenade level in case they are needed.

I flipped the deck plans around to orient them with the picture. The hall's stage is on the right side of the photo.

These must be the windows at the top of the interior of deck 5 with cross bars.

All very nice photographs. Thank you for posting.

I like how more light is coming into the ship.

The glass statue, the music hall, etc. all look great.

Too bad that we cannot figure out what the More To Come spot is.

Keep the photographs coming!! My chance to cruise again is far off. I like to be able to see the ship in the meantime.

My understanding is (and especially since the Costa Concordia tragedy) there has been a lot of talk about how to make it safer and easier for passengers to board Lifeboats should there be a need. I thought I read somewhere that is one reason why Quantum Class was designed as such to have them on the promenade deck as opposed to hanging over the sides.

The lifeboats will still have too be lower down you can't just walk into them. Don't look like a safer way just a cheaper way. They save a lot of money that way. How much safe it it with those small walk ways.

Your have to lower the davit out, vs having the over head where you have to slide he davit out and then lower the cables to have the life boat become even with the side of the ship. In my opinion would be faster the new way vs the old way
