Princess offering Free cruises? Am I reading it wrong?

I just called Princess and was told that it would have to be a new booking, and couldn't be applied to an existing booking. Makes sense. :(

I was told I could apply it to my booked cruise in March 2014 so who knows who is right. I called and spoke with 2 different people who said it was ok for my my March cruise. I just called a third time and there is no restriction, she told me )Lisa) that the only requirement is that you use it by Dec 31 1014 which I will. I wrote down all three people I spoke to and the dates and times in case this comes up again.

I was told the same thing that it could be applied to a cruise already booked. She noted that in my file too that I was told that.

It is for the 3 and 4 night cruises for this OCT and Nov. I just called back and upgraded to a penthouse suite since I'll get the full fare back on my 10 night Sapphire cruise later this year. My sapphire cruise is only in a mini suite but they say the FCC can be applied to any category. IT IS COMBINABLE with other promos too OMG it's a free cruise!!

Was your Sapphire cruise already booked when you took advantage of this deal? I just spoke to another res agent who was adamant that the FCC could not be applied to an existing booking.

Just curious as we are booked on the March 4th Panama Canal voyage, and this would be a great way to put money down on it. We are already leaving next weekend for a 3 night cruise, but it would be worth doing another in a suite!

Sorry, I didn't see this response before I posted. I wish I could get one of your three people!

Wow! This is frustrating! I'm going to try again!

Let us know what you find out. The gal I talked to had me on hold for quite awhile to find out. Talked to the help desk and came back and said yes we could. I have 2 other cruises booked on in Jan and one in May so I will apply it to one of those. Good luck.

Called again and the last agent was nice enough to say she wasn't sure and that she would check. Unfortunately, the Help Desk was closed, so she told me to call tomorrow am. I missed them by 15 minutes.

Thanks for the support!

I spoke with 3 different people, Lisa, laurel and Terry in 3 separate phone calls and all said this offer has no restrictions and is combinable with the FCC I had previously purchased and applied to my March 1 2014 cruise. Call again in the morning and talk with someone who is more knowledgeable about this promo. It's too good a deal to pass up if you can cruise on the few dates that have this offer. I live in Los Angeles so with no air needed it was a no brainer to take advantage of a freebie.

I think it's probably intended as a way to get people to try cruising...and come back. I sure didn't get an email to tell me about it. But even as an elite I would not be above taking advantage of it to have a nice relaxing get away :D

I hope they do it again, because I will be on the Ruby Princess in the Mediterranean during this one!

My Princess shows the following:

No mention about any sale.

You can go to the page that displays the cruises (search Golden Princess for October and November) and it will display the words "Cruise Sale" in a red box next to each itinerary that applies. It is listed for the 3 and 4 day cruises between October 21st and November 4th. Just got back from Golden this past Monday, and not having much luck trying to get the DW to go again.

This is another example of Princess leaving out the solo cruisers. I read the fine print and it does not apply to singles. When will they learn that singles like to cruise but we are hampered by their antiquated ideas of double occupancy? I spend a lot of time in the casino and spend enough in the shops to make up for whatever discount they might give me. I would sail more often if it weren't for the single supplement.

I do not read it like that at all. The fine print says the fares don't apply to solos, as the fares they show are ppdo. That's the fine print on every offer, because marketing material only ever display sample fares that are ppdo. The promotion itself, however, would still apply to solos, just not at the displayed fare but at the usual 100% upcharge for single occupancy. Again, just like every other sale.

If there were no single supplement then everyone would take a cabin for themselves so they could have 2 bathrooms. It's standard in the industry that prices are based on double occupancy although there are frequent sailings with a reduced single supplement.

Um, no, there aren't.

You are so lucky not available in the opening page of http://www./princess.com.au which is always brought up whatever we type

Your air from Australia for a 3 or 4 nighter would be expensive. If you want to see the cruises just look at Golden princess for Oct and Nov and you'll see when they come up a sale box and then you can read the details assuming they show up on your website in Oz.

Actually, it makes a lot of sense for Princess to do this. I checked out one of the sailings and, for the average room, the FCC is good. As for the "free" cruise, you get the fare back only if you book another cruise. Most likely, you will book a more expensive cruise and they make money...

I sent an email off to customer relations and plan to call in the morning. I used one of the big online travel agency to book the deal about 2 months ago. I am on the 28th cruise which qualifies for the promo. Is this something you only qualify if you book direct with princess or anyone on that cruise is qualified if they call. I have travel insurance which will let me cancel for any reason and I will get 75% of my money back which means I would loose $385 but then I can rebook and get full amount back ($1185) as FCC and still come out ahead $800 in FCC after factoring in the 25% loss from insurance.

It is NOT an email it is open for everyone on the opening page of http://www.Princess.com

I am in the US and it doesn't come up for me! :(

EDIT : I followed someone's suggestion and just clicked on "West Coast Getaway" under Cruise Deals and then clicked on "Princess Getaway Sale View Offer Details " and this comes up in a new screen:

(it's NOT on the original Princess.com page - you have to look for it!)

Sale ends October 31st, 11:59pm PT

*Book a qualifying voyage by October 31, 2013 and 100% of the cruise fare will be available as a future cruise credit (FCC) that will be applicable to any 2013/2014 published future cruise that is 7 days or longer. Once the qualifying voyage has sailed, an FCC will automatically be applied to passengers’ Captains Circle member number. The FCC must be applied to a future sailing departing before December 31, 2014. Above fares are based on Golden Princess® 10/21/13 and 10/28/13 departure. Other dates may vary. Fares apply to minimum lead-in categories on a space-available basis at time of booking. Fares for other categories, sailings and cruisetours may vary. Oceanview stateroom may have an obstructed view. Fares are per person, non-air, cruise- or cruisetour-only, based on double occupancy and apply to the first two passengers in a stateroom. These fares do not apply to singles or third/fourth-berth passengers. Government fees and taxes of $55-$90 are additional and subject to change. This offer is capacity controlled and may not be combinable with any other public, group or past passenger discount. Fares quoted in U.S. dollars. Please refer to the applicable Princess Cruises brochure or princess.com for terms, conditions and definitions that apply to all bookings. This special comes up on my Princess front page every time. It is a bit ambiguous, however. There are three boxes at the bottom of the page one says "Save up to $2000" next one says "3-Day Getaways from $199" and the third says "Support out Troops". You want the second box because if you read the rest of the verbiage it states "100% Princess Getaways, 100% off"

I attached a picture I took of my screen, but I have not been successful at uploading pictures to CC in the past. Crossing my fingers.

You said the same thing on the 3 for free promo but my TA (who is a top seller of Princess) couldn't get me the fares or the goodies. Have you gotten the promo as a single?
