How is the Pizza on Splendor???

How is the pizza on Splendor? I recently sailed on the Sunshine and I thought the pizza was AWESOME! It had been about two years since my last cruise (Valor) and I didn't think the pizza was good on it, and I NEVER complain about pizza, even if it is terrible.

 

I noticed on the Sunshine they made the pizza fresh. Fresh hand tossed crust, toppings and stove. Anybody know if this is how it is on Splendor as well? Did Carnival re do their pizza kitchen or was it just on the Sunshine?

The pizza was excellent, freshly made so you had to wait a bit, but it was worth it:)

Although we cruised on Splendor in 2011, we got pizza a couple times and it was yummy..better than what we can get here in Australia! :D

yes it could be. I have been on cruises where the pizza tastes like cardboard.

 

But on the splendor, pizza was ok. It was freshly made. My son loved it.

They had the new pizza when I was on the Valor over one year ago. When I went on the Fantasy last moth, they had the old awful pizza.

Its so funny how peoples views are different...

 

I personally thought it was pretty bad. It was very thin and kinda cheap tasting. Glad I didn't have to pay extra for it!

I wasn't a fan either. It was just ok. Had it once the whole cruise, but will say that given the lines at all points day and night, many liked it.

On the 2/13 sailing I only had a few bites and it was OK...

 

Perhaps I'll have more on Monday's sailing. Not a big pizza fan to begin with but it was edible!!

When we sailed on the Splendor, the DS and his girlfriend like the pizza. However, the DS did say that he had liked the pizza on the Fascination (which we had sailed the year before) better. I agreed with him. JOHO.:D

Sailed on Valor last spring and loved the pizza! Of course I like mine more Italian style which is how they make theirs.....on the smaller side, hand tossed, thin and crispy, and mozerella in slices instead of shredded. I really liked it. Takes patience to wait but well worth it. My fave was the one with various types of mushrooms. Yummmmm (wish I could remember the name of that one):D

Sailed Splendor 2/21-3/1 and LOVED the pizza. I tried the white one...I think it's garlic pizza. Very good and something different. Also had the plain and pepperoni and no complaints! ;);)

We just got off the Fascination (will be writing a review tomorrow very long one) the pizza on this ship:

 

Dough soggy and mushy

Pepperoni and other toppings good

Sauce lacking taste/flavor and very skimpy

 

Gluten Free pizza inedible discusting!

I would agree with you 99.9% of the time. I don't complain about pizza. However, I wasn't a fan of Valor's 3 years ago. Thick crust with hardly any sauce. Not much taste, much like cardboard.

The pizza on Sunshine a few months ago was amazing. FRESH dough, FRESH cheese, FRESH sauce...although thin crust isn't my favorite, the crust was good. Craving some right now! hahaha

I was on the Jan 20th Splendor out of NYC. I thought the pizza was excellent and had it almost every day. It is a thin crust "Italy" style pizza. If you like this type then I am sure you will love it. If you like a thick chewy heavier style, then you may not enjoy it. I enjoyed it because it was not too filling but it hit the spot. I usually got the basic tomato sauce/cheese pizza. The tomato sauce is delicious and so is the cheese. It comes with fresh basil. If you are willing to take what is already out of the oven then you will not wait long. If you order a specific pizza then you will be waiting from 10 to 20 minutes during peak times.

 

The food and overall experience on Splendor was great on my cruise. Enjoy.:cool:

I agree to and extent. The last time I had it was mediocre at best but I don't think it was the "new pizza" it wasn't thin crust it was thicker bland like a bad frozen pizza. Personally I like New York style so if they went with thin crust on their "new pizza" I am on board.

we really enjoyed it! we made sure to ask for extra sauce/cheese and for the whole pizza each time:)
