Buildergirl17 Posted September 25, 2022 #251 Share Posted September 25, 2022 We used Rome Cabs to transport 7 of us from The Port to our hotel in Rome. Their service was excellent. They were there waiting for us. We had great conversations on our way to the hotel and my husband and the driver had fun exchanging itialian hand signals. Rare mexicobob Posted September 28, 2022 #252 Share Posted September 28, 2022 I was going to use Rome Cabs to take us from our Rome hotel to the port. We will be arriving a few days before the cruise. Was considering taking a regular taxi from the airport to the hotel. Any advantage of using Rome Cabs from the airport? Always a line of them right outside the exit from the terminal and there is a fixed rate into the central part of Rome.

RHudson1825 Posted October 6, 2022 #255 Share Posted October 6, 2022 Used Stefano's Rome Cabs from Civetechia to Rome, then Rome to the airport. Nice, big, clean cars with peofessional drivers who were 10 minutes early each time. They spoke clear English and we're very kind. Highly recommend. Getting off the cruise to a driver with a board with my name on it was such a relief and much nicer than a crowded bus.
J18ktleo Posted October 8, 2022 #256 Share Posted October 8, 2022 Rome Cabs is the best! I used them to pick us up from FCO to our hotel, exactly on time and excellent price. Then booked 3 cars for my group at two hotels to transfer to the port, all on time, great service. Booked another 3 cars for pick up from the port to FCO and were waiting when we disembarked at 6:45 am.... Professional Helpful Great vehicles Wonderful Service They are the best!!! I started working with them on this cruise in 2019/2020 which was cancelled due to Covid, their service and responsiveness is excellent!
indybelle Posted October 25, 2022 #257 Share Posted October 25, 2022 Just adding our two cents on Rome Cabs. We arranged for transport from FCO to our hotel near Trevi, and then from Trevi to Civitavecchia. Their service was flawless - driver met us on time at FCO and our hotel with clean, comfortable Mercedes sedans. Highly recommend!

We had a 12:15 flight out so we booked a private driver with them so we could carry our luggage off and meet them at 7:30. (Carnival Pride) They met you just outside the doors and escorted you to their car that was right there in the parking lot. Simple and Easy. If I were not flying out, I would probably just take the train or a cab to save money.
the mice Posted October 31, 2022 #259 Share Posted October 31, 2022 Used them for a transfer from our hotel to the port. 3rd time using them. Flawless every time. First time was back in 2009 with an airport pickup to hotel in Rome and then, a day later, transfer to the port, shared with others staying in a different hotel. Second time was transfer from city hotel to an airport hotel. This time was another transfer from hotel to the port. Driver was a bit early, offered us water, drove smoothly and made our transfer to the ship as seamless as possible. Payment by credit card. Easy-peasy. Highly recommend them for transfers. If we return to Rome, we will definitely use them again.
gifted Posted November 9, 2022 #260 Share Posted November 9, 2022 Rome Cabs are just wonderful. We were picked up at the airport after an exhausting flight and our driver, Irene was waiting patiently there for us. She kept texting me not to worry she would stay there. When we finally got out, she took me by the hand, and guided me to her clean, limo, She got us to the hotel at the port, took in our bags, and was so pleasant. I would recommend them highly, and would use them again in a second. Great company and driver. Marilyn

mufflogan Posted November 14, 2022 #262 Share Posted November 14, 2022 We used Rome Cabs for our Apex TA on Saturday, Oct. 29th. Our hotel was on Via del Corso(very busy street). There was no parking by our hotel. Our pickup time was 9:45. We came downstairs at 9:35 and our driver was waiting for us right outside the door. He had parked his car with the emergency flashers on right on the street. We walked 50 feet to our car. He loaded our bags. He drove us quickly and safely to Civitivecchia. Everything was literally perfect. I will used Rome Cabs every time I'm in the Rome area. I have nothing bad to say about them at all. From their website to their email communication to our experience with our driver... absolute perfection.

City of Rome taxis operate at a fixed rate of 50 euros from FCO to all Rome hotels within the Aurelian walls (basically anywhere in the historic center) of Rome. There are no surcharges for luggage or night rates. Most of the taxis in the queue are Rome taxis (usually white with the city of Rome crest in red, but can be other colors....). You just want to avoid getting a taxi that is NOT City of Rome, because the taxis from Fiumicino (the small city in which the airport is located) charge more. Be sure to always ask for the fixed rate of 50 euro before you get into the cab.
Gracie115 Posted November 14, 2022 #264 Share Posted November 14, 2022 Our experience with Rome Cabs was outstanding. We hired them for a pick up at FCO to Albergo Del Senato, then the next day to Tivoli Gardens. The next day they provided transportation from Rome to Tuscany area near Pisa and the cooking school we were attending for the week. Finally, a week later they picked us up at the cooking school and transported us to the Civitavecchia port. The cooking school was very remote but they found it with no trouble. All transports the drivers were on time, actually early, every time. We couldn't be more pleased with their service. Someone here awhile back asked if anyone had any experience with Rome Cabs outside of the Rome and port area. We certainly did and will be seeking their help again the next time we find ourselves in Italy, which we hope is very soon.
arubaaruba Posted November 18, 2022 #265 Share Posted November 18, 2022 We arranged a private tour from Livorno to visit Volterra, San Gimignano and a wine tasting at Tenuta Torciano. From the start, Stefanos Rome cabs was fantastic. Always responding promptly and answering all my questions along the way. Extremely accommodating and helpful. Our driver was on the dock as promised with a sign with our name. He (Antonello) was welcoming and smiling and anxious to ensure we had the best day possible in Tuscany. He reviewed the itinerary before leaving and we were on our way. At each stop, he made recommendations as to what we should make sure we see, gave us fantastic directions and tips and set a specific meeting time and spot for each stop. We felt 100% comfortable with him and were able to thoroughly enjoy our time together in each amazing destination. He got us exactly where promised on time and was a FANTASTIC driver. I would not hesitate to book with Rome Cabs anywhere they operate and will when we return!
schmoopie17 Posted November 19, 2022 #266 Share Posted November 19, 2022 We had the opportunity to use Rome Cabs for a night tour of Rome, as well as transport from our hotel to the port two days later. The night tour driver (Radu) was especially good at providing interesting tidbits as we rode all over the area. Very patiently waited while we roamed around after dropping us at the various sites. Pick-up was prompt in both cases and would highly recommend this company.

phabric Posted January 21, 2023 #270 Share Posted January 21, 2023 How big are their cars/vans? There are 5 adults, 10 checked luggage, 5 carry on, really don’t know if everyone will bring 2 checked yet. Ship arrives in at 6am. We are staying overnight at Hilton Rome Airport attached to the airport. Any idea what the last time they make you leave the ship? Is it 9 or 9:30? What tip did people give? Or, in Italy they don’t tip?

You do not have time to go to Rome. Book the transfer directly from the port to the airport. It is about one hour.
