Diamond and Up Drink Vouchers - List of Ships Using them

Recommended Posts

That's strange, the email doesn't say that the Champagne Bar is not included.

Cheryl

The Hotel Director on each ship makes the final decisions. The Champagne bar was excluded I guess because it was the bar closest to busy MTD , management probably didn't want it being clogged up with a line of guests getting 'free' drinks to take into the MDR and upsetting the bona fide paying guests. Just my opinion.

It is no hardship to get a drink from another bar and take it to the venue of your choice which we did. There are bar tenders/servers and there are excellent bar tenders/servers unfortunately the best are not always serving where you want them to be:)

I've noticed it's varied from CL to CL what drinks can be made. DW 'discovered' Lemondrops first cruise in the CL, they couldn't do that in the next one. Cruise after the CL bartender said he couldn't but he worked days in the Casino and always made sure she had Lemondrops in there (guess who got our WOW card on that trip?)

OMG!! I, too, discovered Lemondrops on my recent Serenade cruises (B2B):D

It got to where the wonderful bartender Melody made them as soon as we walked in.......

Sadly, she won't be there when we return next April. I hope we can still get them on the next cruise.

So I hope I am not asking this again, I scanned all the posts and really did not read the answer I am looking for. My DW and I will be sailing on the Explorer this coming Thursday, July 31st. We received the e-mail back a couple of months ago regarding the daily 3 drinks added to the sea pass card. Now the question.

Is the three drinks only during the hours that the CL/DL are offering evening drinks or is it anytime with the exception of the dining rooms. Just want to see if DW and I will be spending more time in the Schooner Bar this trip than we normally do.

Quick update. Dispite receiving a letter on July 5 that our July 25 enchantment would use vouchers, none were loaded to the card. Loyalty ambassador told us if we wanted to get drinks outside of the DL or CL, we needed to have the printed version of the email. After ordering and paying for the drinks we would need to go to guest services, show the printed email to receive the refund. Way too much trouble for us, we had our drink in the CL.

CL occupancy went from six people to never more than a dozen during the time we were there for a drink. (generally 6 till 6:30. ) We took a quick look in the DL and there were never more than a few people there. We chatted with a few D+ friends on board and no one even knew that the vouchers were potentially available for the sailing.

LA said that the vouchers would be available August 4.

Enjoy

I haven't read all 19 pages of this thread so this may have been answered so please forgive me if it has....

How are these drink vouchers going to work? Are they to be used only in bars are can the vouchers be used at dinner? Are these vouchers to be used in lieu of going to the DL or CL?

DH and I will be on Freedom this August and so far, we haven't received an email about drink vouchers.

Thanks.

The vouchers are in addition to the unlimited drinks in the DL/CL. The vouchers can be used in bars or the main theater. They cannot be used in restaurants. They are valid only during the normal cocktail hours of the DL/CL and they expire every night.

Bob,

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I am on my second leg of our b2b on the Vision. The vouchers are working VERY, VERY well! I showed up the first night with my card, a dollar bill for each free drink, and a smile. That way the bar staff know they are getting their tips. Wonderful service; it's working great! A stop in the CL or DL for a glass of wine to take to dinner, and I'm on my way. Love the new program!

I'm new to this thread too so please forgive if this has been asked. I scrolled thru quickly but didn't see an answer. Do you have to be notified of this perk by an email to be eligible? Or do Diamond and above automatically get the free drinks loaded to SeaPass each day?

Thanks! Sailing on Navigator in Oct with other Diamonds but a few Emeralds so it will be nice to be able to hang out with everyone!:)

If your ship has implemented the vouchers, then you will get them automatically.

Also, the Champagne Bar doesn't carry the house wines, so they would have to change their inventory around.

Just got back today on the Grandeur. They did have the drinks pre-loaded on our cards. Also added Baileys and Corona to the list. It worked very nice, but the bartenders were measuring the pours which I never noticed before.

Nice to hear another report Baileys is included. I assume "one drink" is one measured shot glass? One shot of Baileys over ice is going to look silly in the glass. I wonder if they would allow you to order a triple and blow thru all vouchers and save bartender some time.

If you tip the bartenders you will be surprised what they can do.;):)

We ordered all 3 shots of Baileys on ice at once. They did not have Baileys in the clubs only at the bars so we decided that we would pick it up on our way out.

would I be able to get a bottle of Evian water instead of a drink from the vouchers in the bars.

I think the lounge might have water.

thanks.

Bottled water is not normally on the list of drinks for the vouchers.
