Thank you Jan -- truly a new cast of characters. Hopefully those of you who are interested in the CD will give us feedback when you sail with any of the new people.

We just returned from the Classic Continental, Amsterdam to Barcelona, and Ray Michaels was our CD. The BEST we have ever had.

 

Ray was everywhere--at excursions dispatches, at functions (& our CC M&G), meals, etc. What a fabulous CD. He was "available," you might say. Always spoke, recognized you, said your name. Unbelievable.

 

We have had lovely and attentive CD's, but no one like Ray Michaels. I was amazed at his presence. He made it feel "homey." What a pleasant amenity for Oceania.

I am on Riviera at the moment, Andy Heath has been an excellent CD, we have enjoyed his trivia sessions greatly. His wife Tammy is the social hostess, they make a great team.

Joseph Lustig is J.R. He was assistant CD under Dottie and took over for her when she got sick. Dottie and J.R. made a great team. He has been with O with years. A great singer, very friendly, lots of fun and the passengers really enjoyed him.

J.R. is wonderful. He has been a CD off and on since we met him about 10 years ago. Does not want to be a CD full time, but will help out when needed. We love him and can't wait to travel with him again. :):):)

We got our docs last week for our Nov. 29 cruise on Riviera. David Shermet is listed as CD.

He resigned his position with Oceania, about a month ago.

Jamie Logan, Lorraine Weimerskirch and Ray Solaire are long time Regent Cruise Directors (as was Paul Reynolds who is now working for Viking Ocean Cruises). Did not know that they were spending time on Oceania but it doesn't surprise me since people tend to move around a lot. Lorraine is our C.D. for our cruise that begins this Friday.

Ray Michaels was the CD on Marina 8/21 - 9/2. He was VERY good.

 

He's listed in our book for the 10/28 Marina cruise.

We had Ray Solaire on Silver Seas. Heard he was on Regent. Hope so as we are on Regent for the Cape Town to Singapore. He was fabulous.

Just returned from cruise on Nautica. Julie, a tall vivacious blonde lady from Australia was the cruise director. She was very visible, very approachable and seemed to be enjoying herself as she mingled with the passengers. She also sang a few times, once doing a late night jazz show in Horizons that I didn't make. I haven't experienced all the other cruise directors to make a comparison, but I enjoyed Julie.

Interesting...David Shermet is listed in our "Blue Book" as the CD on our upcoming TA cruise aboard Riviera November 15.
