Hi Radio!

I'm so excited to read your live review. I just got off yesterday and had a wonderful 12-night sailing. We had perfect 85 degrees at all the islands. Sorry you are having rough seas. I was also on deck 8 but you have a better balcony than I did, same bed setup near the balcony door.

 

I really enjoyed dynamic dining and eating with "friends", sometimes just 4 of us, sometimes up to 10. Better than being herded in like cattle in MDR.

 

Jimmy was on my sailing and will be on vacation for 2 months.

 

p.s. casino isn't very loose with sharing money. Don't waste much money there, lol.

missing San Juan isn't a big deal and, IMO, I'd rather have the extra 1/2 sea day instead. Will be boarding the Quantum in 9 days and with today's snow plus more forecasted next week, I'm even more eager to get on board.

So pleased that someone posted this thread on the March 1 roll call. We'll be on that cruise. Your comments are really great and helpful and love the pics. Do you know what movies they will be showing? I'll be interested in any comments you may hear on dining. Have been having problems getting early reservations and have 4 open nights without any. Hopeful for calmer seas for you as you progress.

Captain Gus is filling in for Captain Srecko Ban who is on vacation. Captain Gus is suppose to leave sometime in March then Captain Srecko Ban returns.

 

no, after Capt Gus finishes his 10 week rotation, Capt Henrik Sorensen from Adventure takes over. Capt Gus moves to Anthem, they are giving Capt Ban a nice break from all his hard work bringing out QN (so to speak, Capt Dahlgren brought her across on the maiden and NY freebies then it was Capt Ban for the inaugural).

Ugh, really? So Captain Srecko Ban is not coming back to Quantum? I remembering reading he was taking the ship to China, has all this changed?

Some of you say that you are subscribing to Mark's wonderful "live from". What does it mean to subscribe to the "live from" ? I just go to the RCCL "live from". Is there a shorter way of doing it ? Thanks.

Radio...In your post cruise comments (or if you get bored of talking about Quantum while onboard and have some spare bandwidth available :rolleyes:), I'd love to hear your recommendations on sailing with a GoPro. I got one for Christmas and can't wait to use it in June on Freedom. You always have some amazing video and pics that, from previous LIVE reports, I think you get from a GoPro (amongst other things). Hmmm.... the Capt we saw on the maiden sure looked like Capt Ban - maybe he was just the PR front end for RCI on the sailing.:cool:

I don't think they are allowed to run it in port liberty from some reason. At least, that's what I heard on my 1/3 sailing (but never confirmed/denied it). If it is true I wonder the reason.

I guess it couldn't hurt to head over to the North Star when we board and see if it is operating and we can take a ride :)

Radio, your running account of the cruise is well appreciated by me. I would have been on the ship with you except that I came down with the flu and went to bed instead. I had to cancel and thankfully had insurance. Keep up the work; I’ll be looking over your shoulder all the way. I won’t miss the big waves

Oh ok. Good to know. I wonder why the limitation, maybe it's too close to the terminal on the one side but can't imagine why not the other side lol. Was that for Bayonne specifically, or all ports?

 

North Star was awesome I enjoyed it.

Hi Radio, I'm sailing on the same cruise with you, and saw you at the M&M today. Did you check out the "Selection of Robo Shows" today? (The robotic screens in the two70 lounge.) They were really cool. I see they are running them a few times today and I don't know if the shows are different each time or not.

 

The seas look very wild outside and we currently having gale force winds, but the QOTS is handling them very well. Just a little rocking and occasional shaking and creaking.

As many cruises as we have been on I can't remember who the captain' s were. All I know after getting off the ship, look forward to the next one

Radio, it was nice to meet you today.

We are on Quantum now and really enjoying it. Had an excellent dinner last night at Jamie's. Try the truffle pasta. It was awesome! We had a great waiter, Cosmo, he ran over to Vintages to get us a bottle of wine and then back to get us the big wine glasses. Great service and food.

Off to American Icon tonight.
