Casino Rate: How much do I need to gamble?

I can tell you that's not an automatic formula because prior to my very last cruise, I have, for the past 3-4 cruises, spent $100 a day in the casino and yet I haven't received a single thing! No discount no drinks Card nothing! On my last cruise there was too much smoke in the casino for me to tolerate it and I had decided not to spend any more money in the casino because I always lose and I can spend the $700 somewhere else. So hey now I have $700 towards my next cruise! Seems like I've found the best way for me to get the casino discount....... avoid the casino!!!

If you win some hands or spins and then put that money back in, you can lose nothing, but put a lot of money into play. There are people who win so they spend nothing and get offers because they put back some of their winnings back into play. Sometimes if you lose rather quickly, you could lose 300.00 a day and not put enough into play to get offers.

I have to agree that the amount your put into play is what they are looking at - but, they must also be looking at the time spent playing. If I'm winning I will normally put most of it back in, but I've only had enough points (based on how much $ I was putting into play) to get the Drinks On Us card on 2 of the last 5 cruises. I am still getting the "pay 150 get 100 back" deals, and have been for the last couple of years.

 

I think that the time spent playing in the casino has to be part of the formula. When I'm getting low on the amount I've given myself to spend each day ($75), I'll start playing really low because I enjoy playing - I accumulate very few points doing this, but I rack up the time. I was told that this is why I get the offers.

I got 950 points on our cruise in August and received a casino offer with casino cash. Some pretty good rates. Not free, but less than $200 pp for a 5 night cruise.

 

We are very tempted to book for February!

Were your points based on table play or slots?

I got my first Casino Rate offer back in April and we are leaving in 30 days on Journey's Cruise. I'm not a big gambler, like to take a few hundred dollars and see how long that can last me on slots. Usually do go to the casino every night though, for at least a couple of hours. (Its one of those places where smokers don't have to feel like 2nd class citizens!)

 

I got a great rate for an 11 day cruise! So great, I'm sailing on a ship I vowed never to sail on (Sunshine) because I just couldn't turn it down. Still sort of shocked I'm going for 11 days for about $1500 less than an 8 day to Aruba was.

 

I didn't get my first offer until I'd been on five previous cruises. I was thrilled since I'm not exactly a high roller in the casino!

So.. I went on a Casino offer recently ... discount on the cruise, and 100 funchips... turned 100 into much more... at one point up to 2800... of course i didn't leave with much..however, i was well over 1000 ahead.

I emailed the casino to see how many points i had. I had earned the dou card on day 3 of the 6 day cruise. And spent many hours in the casino.

I have read hear that it is based on play. Any, what it gets down to is, coming from the Casino at players club number, since i am a table player, i dont earn points as you would at the slots. Comps are based on win/loss. Hours played was not mentioned. So maybe it is an average win/loss based on hours played. But that is just a guess.. don't really know. So, I am still not sure how much win/loss you have to be at to get certain comps such as dou on day one. (of course, i got that on this cruise on day 3, very happy about that:D). I am getting more offers. Does anyone know how much your win/loss needs to be to get a dou card on day one, if you are not booking premier?

Also, the casino on the Breeze is the best i have ever been in. The hosts, pit bosses, and dealers are the absolute best that i have ever enountered on Carnival!:D

I just returned from a Princess Cruise. Lost over $10,000 in the ship casino and put over 40,000 points on my card. I received an offer for a free 15 day balcony with $500 freeplay. Seems a bit low for what I spent? No mention of a free drink card or anything else. I was also told that those points on my card were no good for anything, and could not be applied towards my bill.

I've never received a Bounce-back offer even though I've had well over 2,500 points. Some have suggested that it was because I already had at least one more cruise booked at the time (which, to me, is just wrong; if you meet the criteria, you should receive one). Others have said it's 5,000 points (which I haven't quite reached but when you play tables, you don't really know how many points you've accumulated).

 

I have started receiving the Premier offers (past two cruises were Premier and my 11/29 will also be). However, my offers have NOT been for free cabins. I get a discounted rate (not a lot; not remotely close to free) and my casino cash has never been more than $300. Still, if I'm planning on cruising (I had already booked the 11/29 Sunshine Journeys when the Premier offer came out and was able to switch the rate), booking a Premier just makes sense. The casino cash plus Drinks on Us card help with the costs, especially if I'm solo.

 

Just received a new round of Premier offers but I can't sail from January to mid-April.

 

There are quite a few threads on here about this subject. If you search for them, you'll find lots of varying thoughts and theories.

How are the offers presented? Do you get an email or post office mailing?

You can toss caution to the wind and go home and make payments on the charge card till the next cruise. However as always. The more you play the more you can win also. if lady luck is on your side. You do not need to spend any of your money at all. Good luck to all. just today in the news paper. Someone came up with a gadget to increase the the money total to play in a slot. Transmits a signal into the slot machine. They got caught after loading $2,300 in credits.

Last cruise I only gambled with $300, did not reach 1500 points (oh the horror!) I play the slots and did not spent a lot of time in there due to the smoke (have lung disease).  And have gotten several different offers this year.  One was a Premier Getaway with $100 in free play, another one was the Summer $20K weekend tournaments with $100 in free play + drinks on us + free tournament seats, another one is the normal Dealers Choice with $50 in fun play, and I booked the Hot Streak Bonus with $100 OBC + drinks on us.

I did take a few hundred home more than what I started out with, so maybe that's the reason for so many offers all of a sudden, they want their money back.😮

Not that low. The economy is doing well, so they don't have to give much away. They do want to sweeten the pot by ensuring you are there for another 15 days to give them another 10k.

I do go to the casino every day though. Spend 40 - 60 per time.

We've been on eleven Carnival Cruises and both wife and I spend $100 each night.  Most of those cruises have been either 7 or 8 night cruises.  We have never been offered any thing.  I have even contacted the Players Club and their reply was that we didn't qualify for anything.

It’s not how much you lose, it’s how much you gamble. Just a simple example using slots. Say two guests play the same slot machine and bet the same amount each spin. If one guest loses $100 in 10 minutes, while the other guest plays for several hours before losing $100, the guest who played for hours gambled significantly more money, even though the end result is both guests lost $100.

If I was you, I'd try another Cruise Line, maybe urcomp!

We budget $100/night to gamble (each for me and the Mr).  We don’t do it every night sometimes we bank our money and go double one night. 

 

My point is last cruise my husband lost roughly $700 of his own money. He won a bit, if I’d have to venture a guess I’d put his losses at about 1k on a 7 day cruise in 2017. I did not win and probably barely went above my budgeted $700. 

 

He gets casino offers. Discounted rooms, not free. DOU card as part of the offer and some OBC. I am positive he did not have the 1500 points normally required for DOU when we left. I have never received an offer myself.

Once you insert your card into a machine, and transfer some money onto it, you're in!

What you get in benes. will depend on how much you play! (play, not win/lose)

At the end of your cruise, some who have gambled a lot will get what they call a bounce back offer that's only good for a few weeks to book, and usually only cruises in the next 3 months. The amount needed to get a bounce back changes because it depends only on where you rank with other gamblers on that cruise! A cruise with a lot of big gamblers will take a lot more play on your part to get the offer. The offers go from money off, to a free cabin in all categories, again based on your play!

Once you've shown Carnival how much you on average play, they will send you out offers for getaway short cruises to Premiere/Ultra/Elite cruises that even have some journey/longer crises offered! There are quite a few categories so I won't go into all of them!

Most of these offers come with free drinks in the casino while playing, a first day 1 hour party with food and drinks, some little gifts in your cabin, contests during the cruise for casino cash, and for those with a lot of play, a free invite to the steak house!! Each category has their own specific perks!
