The announcement must be coming soon. John mentioned it again today in his FB post without being asked.

They are either trying to get everyone used to the idea or they really do think its an improvement to keep mentioning it. JMHO

........ Or not

We have heard from an usually accurate source that the announcement will be coming very soon unless it doesnt.

The only question is whether they update the CD list before more leave.

Maybe it's an improvement to scrap the term "WalMart of the Seas." Try to get away from being called that by offering a few more chocolate covered strawberries to first time cruisers. Once that stigma is attached, it's a difficult one to overcome. Maybe they have a plan.

Do the choc covered strawberries come with an oar? If so could save a lot on bunker fuel.:):)

They could save a lot by stop giving them out. We always get rid of them, or down the toilet or when the cabin steward isn't looking we put them on his cart.

Carnival cooked their own stew when they allowed the # of cruises instead of days sailed to count towards reward levels. The fairest way IMO would be to give extra credit for more expensive cabins and the jump from platinum to diamond is ridiculous. There should be a level between 70 and 200 days. I suspect they'll go to a point system and scrap the days at sea.

It's insanity to think a change in the program will enhance benefits without a price increase to base fares for all.

all programs change , mileage, rooms , car rentals. All do .

If carnival really wants to change they should scrap the old fashioned, ineffective thought that it's about number of days or going back to number of cruises.

We all know those 'seasoned ' customers don't partake in big excursions, drinking , spa services or lux accommodations. All of those products drive a larger part of profit. Those are the cust that are being rewarded today .

Just the opposite who they should be enticing to return.

I would love to see the benefits froze , no one should be down graded , no take aways ...but .. All rewards from going forward is based on dollars spent on board .

If you don't spend extra you don't earn extra , if you do spend extra you are rewarded and enticed to plz come again and keep earning..

By the way I have some s&h green stamps , Remember them

Changes, modifications, upgrades, downgrades, anything.

All I saw was that when he was in Miami he talked about how important the loyalty program was and they had discussed it. Did I miss something after that?
