Boytjie Posted December 18, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 18, 2016 It is a busy day in Port Everglades with eight ships starting Christmas cruises! That's about 25,000 passengers. The Nieuw Amsterdam will be at Pier 26 and Prinsendam at Pier 4. Both ships are scheduled to set sail at 16:00/4:00 PM EDT - subject to change as always. A rare treat to see - and hear - the Prinsendam sail-away in day light! The webcams are at: http://portevergladeswebcam.com/ http://ftlauderdalewebcam.com/ Also in Port Everglades are the Regal Princess (Love Boat toots! She is at Pier 2), Coral Princess (Pier 21), Carnival Conquest (Pier 19), Celebrity Silhouette (Pier 25), Allure Of The Seas (Pier 18) and Freedom of the Seas (Pier 29). Rare Scrapnana Posted December 18, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 18, 2016 Thanks, Peter! Too bad that both dam ships are going to be hidden behind others until sail-away.:(

Rare kazu Posted December 18, 2016 #7 Share Posted December 18, 2016 It is rare to see the P'dam sail in daylight out of FLL. Looking forward to it :). Thanks Peter :)
Happily@Sea Posted December 18, 2016 #8 Share Posted December 18, 2016 Prinsendam already here, port schedule put her here before 5am. She'll have all that extra Customs stuff to do?

WeRockChalkKU Posted December 18, 2016 #11 Share Posted December 18, 2016 I wonder if sailings will be delayed trying to hold ships for late arriving plane passengers due to all the wacky weather up North?
Happily@Sea Posted December 18, 2016 #12 Share Posted December 18, 2016 (edited) I wonder if sailings will be delayed trying to hold ships for late arriving plane passengers due to all the wacky weather up North? I don't believe a ship has left on time all this week - unless it was just a port-call. Turn around days the ships have been optimistic, but all the ships have been delayed. Happily@Sea Posted December 18, 2016 #13 Share Posted December 18, 2016 (edited) No view of a dam ship on FLL/PEV, even the Elegant Explorer isn't long/big enough to stick her bow beyond the blockage of Regal Princess. The sky looks terrible. Allure is in backwards: lifeboats or painting or both? Over at Sint Maarten, you actually can see the Koningsdam. She's in the middle of the group - in the back; but you can still see her dark hull, the cabins above, and her funnel. She is leaving at 1pm AST/Noon EST according to the port site;listed as 8pmAST/7pmEST - everywhere else. http://www.portstmaartenwebcam.com/ Edited December 18, 2016 by Happily@Sea
Happily@Sea Posted December 18, 2016 #14 Share Posted December 18, 2016 (edited) Koningsdam is still sitting at St Maarten, so I guess 7pm AST/8pm EST is the correct time for her in the dark sailaway. Ships starting to call in - Coral Pr: 1600. Let's see if anyone can get out on time with all these flight cancellations. On POA1's live thread, he said a couple of pax just made it yesterday, but without their luggage. Edited December 18, 2016 by Happily@Sea

Happily@Sea Posted December 18, 2016 #16 Share Posted December 18, 2016 Regal is also saying 1600; someone just asked for 1545.
Rare Scrapnana Posted December 18, 2016 #17 Share Posted December 18, 2016 Prinsendam and Regal are still on the schedule for 1600. Allure, Coral and X for 1630. Conquest and NA for 1645 and Freedom her usual 1730.
Rare Scrapnana Posted December 18, 2016 #18 Share Posted December 18, 2016 Wonder why the picture quality is so bad on the FLL webcam? It was better when it was panning.
Happily@Sea Posted December 18, 2016 #19 Share Posted December 18, 2016 Wonder why the picture quality is so bad on the FLL webcam? It was better when it was panning. FLL-SE is beautiful but pointing the wrong way. I also doesn't help that my computer screen has a reflection of my south-facing window.

lka1012 Posted December 18, 2016 #24 Share Posted December 18, 2016 Checking in from a chilly Memphis. Yesterday was 75, today is 25. At least we only had a little wind and rain, not bad storms that would be usual for such a temp drop.
