Everything.. Norwegian BLISS! - launch April 2018 -

Recommended Posts

It is, if it is true. I have read, more than one, CC editor articles containing errors/misinformation.

I am hoping for the best and that the glassed in area isn't a non-smoking section. I don't really seem to notice the smell, on other ships, after a few minutes.

Imagine... the NEW smell lofting up through 6-7-8 Oceanplace, the smell that’ll hit you as soon as you board... will be CREPES! I’m hoping we can all agree that’s pretty spectacular.

What may I ask is the glassed in area you speak of? I hope it’s not the casino.

So why does it matter to OP if it’s a non smoking section is my question and just because he/she doesn’t notice the smell, does that mean no one else does?

I'm not the OP but the reason it matters to me is that hopefully the glassed in area will be a well ventilated smoking area that will contain the smoke and keep it from drifting into other areas of the ship. What would be the point of having a glassed in area in the casino for non-smokers if the smoke drifts from the casino into other areas of the ship like it does on the newer ships?

Agreed. Just realized it wasn’t the OP, my mistake. I’m hoping they have that worked out already with the ventilation system as they seem to advertise this non smoking casino. I love to gamble but can’t be in a smoke environment especially after losing a lung already to cancer. I wouldn’t gamble much on BA or GA because of it. I even hated walking on Deck 6 or 8 to forward or aft areas. Always avoided deck 7 but the smell of smoke lingered all over even if the casino was closed.

Does anyone know any more about the comedy club 3 interior venues? I was just looking through some press release pictures and noticed that for entertainment, the comedy club has a main venue, a blue room, and a private lounge. Deck plans of Bliss Deck 6 confirm the 3 separated interior venues. Any ideas on what they might be used for?

I believe the renderings of the “private lounge” and the “blue room” were some of the earliest ones we saw, predating the announcement about the venue being called Alibi and housing Prohibition the Musical.

I haven’t seen any other reference to them.

So, what exactly happens during a float out? Will it be outside from now on? Will we get to se it? I remember seeing a video of the Joy.

There should be lots of videos taken of the Float Out and posted. You may be able to watch the Meyer Werft web cams. Once She "floats out", she will be in the holding until time to go down The River Ems. As She does the Conveyance of The River Ems, there should be lots of videos and pictures posted of that.

It appears we have our 2nd Bliss Theater main production show: Havana!

I believe Warren Carlyle also developed After Midnight for the Escape.

Who’s auditioning?

ABOUT THE SHOW:

This is a production exclusively developed by Warren Carlyle for the Norwegian Cruise Line to be performed at sea. This will be the maiden voyage for this exciting new show! Cast members will work closely with Warren Carlyle in mounting this new production - There were 2 workshops done prior and we are now looking for the original cast for ¡HAVANA! Warren Carlyle (Broadway credits include: On the Twentieth Century, Hello Dolly, Smokey Joe's Cafe, She Loves Me, Christmas Story, Hugh Jackman, After Midnight, Follies, Finian's Rainbow, A Tale of Two Cities, Okalhoma, The Producers...)

We are seeking exceptional Singers/Musical Theater actors. Familiarity with Latin American music a plus. Please prepare a 'Latin Style' song of your choice. Please have sheet music in the correct key. Select vocalists will be asked to learn sides from the show and possibly stay and dance. Please bring form fitting dance wear for the dance segment of the audition.

ENRIQUE: 40s – 50s, male. The founder and owner of the nightclub. Affable. An expert MC and an expert host. Great at repartee. Think Don Francisco without the sleaziness. Strong acting and vocal skills required. RANGE: TENOR 2

XIOMARA: 20s, female. The ingénue. Innocent and earnest. Learning how to navigate the world. We see her grow from wide-eyed and slightly spoiled to a young woman beginning to grow into her generosity and her poise. Strong belt voice required. RANGE: POP MEZZO SOPRANO

DOUG: 40s, male. A beer drinker. RANGE: CORONA to IPA.

DONA TITA: 40s – 50s, female. The grand diva. Queen of the nightclub. Sings with a voice of authority and experience. Think Olga Guillot in her prime. Strong and imperial. RANGE: ALTO

BEBO: 20s, male. A stagehand. From the provinces. Impossibly sincere and hopelessly clumsy. Tangles himself in his own words. Think a young Cantinflas or Charlie Chaplin. Handsome. The right performer is a strong, comedic actor with some clown training. Should be funny and heartbreaking when he is just walking across the stage. Comedic singer RANGE: BARITONE

MIGUELON: 20s – 30s. A crooner. Son of a bootlegger. The most seductive man in Havana. So handsome you dream he isn't a cad but when you get to know him later it turns out he is a cad. Of course he is. With looks like that he was condemned to be. Strong singer. RANGE: TENOR

FABIOLA: The character is not yet 20. Female. A chorus girl who is clearly on her way to a bigger career. Fierce dancer with a strong, amazing voice. Oozes sensuality. Think of a young La Lupe. A tornado on stage. RANGE: MEZZO SOPRANO

SQUIZZY SIEGEL: 30s to 50s, male. A gringo mobster from Chicago. Good character actor required.

I Hope not. After Midnight was one of the worst shows I have ever seen on a Cruise ship!!!!

Funny,,. We enjoyed After Midnight.

However, always looking for something new.

Michael

I agree It is a good show, however it is not everyones taste. I saw it both on Broadway on on NCL. It only ran for a year and 1/2 on Broadway (review shows tend to have short runs) and the reviews were mixed except for the choreography which won the Tony that year. I may get flamed for this comment but in my option it was not a mainstream type of show that middle America would enjoy.
