We were on the same cruise last month on the Ruby and enjoyed it. They had a "special" offer of $29/pax for SHARE so we took the bait. Looks like the "special" is still being offered. While we were in SHARE it was mostly empty and next to us was a table of 8 or so which we found out were young crew members. We did it and don't need to go back again.

This is also our first time on a Caribe deck balcony. I can see why these are so highly sought after, they are huge!!!

Thank you for doing the live report! Off to a wonderful start.

We love the Caribe deck balconies on the Grand Class ships too! Bigger and still offers privacy under the overhang.

Enjoy your cruise! Will be following along.

Looks like the days of two different early dining times are gone. I notice both the aft DR and mid-ship Da Vinci on Deck 6 both start at 5:30pm. Sigh. But wow - 4:30pm on Deck 5 for 100% AT DR!!! I suppose part of this change was when they re-jigged production shows and such in the evening. I also note that with a 5:30 TD start at mid-ship, the AT begins at 7:30 while in the aft, the second seating doesn't begin until 8:00pm. I am hearing 5:30 more and more, but Princess continues to offer TWO different early times when making bookings. Sigh .. again.

So boarding went like this. We all got cards with an alphabetical letter. Elite was A,B,C and Platinum started at E which is what we had.

11:40 started elite boarding with letter A. All elites were on in 5 min.

11:45 called Platinum E and we were on the deck getting our photo taken in 5 minutes.

We headed to our room which was almost ready but not quite so we dropped our carry on bag and went to lunch in the MDR.

Lunch in the MDR was its usual calm and relaxed affair. I had a delicious Salmon and lemon dill sauce and DW had the beef tenderloin, she cleaned her plate so it apparently was good as well. We sat at a table with 2 other couples. One lovely couple from Arizona (I am obligated to say lovely because one of them is apparently a lurker on CC and she connected the dots that I was doing the live from ;) ) and 2 ladies from CA (Kind of from CA, they winter in CA and one lives in Canada during the summer) that are traveling friends. Unbenounced to me apparently this is one of the Casino sailings and apparently both couples were onboard because of that. Funny enough our Arizona friends were behind us in line when we were checking in and their cabin is on the same deck, so it was meant to be that we had lunch with them!

After lunch we wandered around, made our reservations at Share, got an appointment at the Spa for a massage on Cabo day and enjoyed the ship and unpacked before the muster drill.

Still had to bring our life jackets, so apparently any changes coming down the pipe must follow the Medallion rollout, although this was the first time I heard a prepared recording of the drill announcement, instead of an officer from the bridge reading it. But it was uneventful and we headed up to the room to get ready for dinner.

We headed to the PES lounge and grabbed a little guacamole and a drink before dinner, despite being relatively empty I still waited 20 minutes for my drink and finally had to walk up to the bar to get my drink made so we weren’t too late for dinner.

We have always done traditional dining on Princess and it has always been in the lower aft dining room, so I didn't even pay attention to my cruise card. Well we showed up and realized we were at the wrong dining room, and DW immediately pointed out that I (emphasis one the I) had taken us to the wrong location. We made our way upstairs to the correct dining room and had a lovely dinner with 2 other couples that apparently live down the street from one another but had never met, small world.

DW had the pasta dish and said it was good, and I had the fish that was perfectly cooked and I love a good pineapple papaya salsa. I am happy to report hat there was a dish of butter on the table with ample amounts of butter available, so butter-gate has not hit the Ruby yet.

After dinner we puttered around the shops and agreed today was a great day to call it an early night and enjoy the motion of the ocean in rocking us to an early bed time.

Those cabins are very nice and addictive. We stay on the Caribe deck every time now. We just have to remember everyone can see us so we have to be a bit careful in what we wear and do.

Stone island has a beautiful beach in Mazatlan. You can walk (turn left out of the terminal gates) 5 minutes to a little water taxi that is $2 return and runs every 5 minutes or so. We like Victors for beer and grilled fish or chips and salsa or guacamole or ceviche. There are about a dozen beach restaurants.
