rncruiser Posted March 10, 2018 #14 Share Posted March 10, 2018 (edited) Ship shape dollars for participating in any type of exercise and then traded in at the end of the week for t-shirt or visor. rncruiser Posted March 10, 2018 #16 Share Posted March 10, 2018 It wasn’t on Royal Caribbean, but on my very first cruise on the now-defunct Home Lines, we had a assigned deck chairs with our names on them. Wait staff came around with lemonade and ice tea. There was a passenger fashion show, clothes provided. I also recall morning boullion at 11 am. French-style clothing was provided for passengers to dress up on French night in the dining room. I wore a shirt black skirt, striped shirt and a beret. There was an older gentleman on board who got his cruise for free in exchange for dancing with the single women. Although he was there mostly for the elderly widows, my girlfriend and I, both in our early twenties, enjoyed a dance with him too. This was the cruise that got me hooked on cruising. Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted March 10, 2018 #19 Share Posted March 10, 2018 OneCruiser- Tea Time is still offered on Carnival ships go figure.....I agree, cruising was alot more expensive back then, today I find cruising extremely economical especially for families, but to be honest, we are missing alot from the good old days but it is what it is and I just happy to be on any cruise. atb Posted March 10, 2018 #24 Share Posted March 10, 2018 I remember the baked Alaska parade. Also Caesar Salad prepared at table, and Bananas Foster. Funny story about Skeet shooting off the aft. We were sailing near a naval island, and they sent out aircraft for flyovers - and our ship quickly vacated that particular area. Somewhere off the East coast, but I don't remember where.
