So, I learned two things while I was sitting on the stairs waiting for Maria.

One is that people getting off the elevators do so very confidently. They come barrelling off there, take a right and go marching off with their chests puffed up with bravado.

Also a fact is that 90% of them will come back scurrying with their tails between their legs when they realize they went the wrong way. :'):')

I'm guilty of this, as well. I'd rather walk into a brick wall than let the people still on the elevator know that I have no idea where I am going.

The other thing that I learned is that when the elevators arrive, they do so with a three note chime.

I soon realized that the notes were exactly, 100% Neil Diamond's 1972 hit, Song Sung Blue.

There's a pause between the second and third notes, but, trust me, once you hear it, you cannot unhear it.

The elevator: Bing, bing (pause) bing.

Me: Every garden grows one. :'):')

How funny re Neil Diamond, I thought of a different song can’t remember now and would start singing it every time we passed a lift! It made Matt bonkers!

I have just remembered! My lift song was Tom Jones... each time I heard it I would sing Delilah...

Try that one next time you walk past!

Weeping like a willow, but it’s tears of joy and laughter. You are definitely not cruising solo, having recklessly invited this peanut gallery along on your voyage.

Poor Maria has no idea what she’s up against. [emoji57]

According to the dailies, the beverage station is open 20 hours per day. What those hours are , are anybody's guess, It says coffee, tea, water, ice and creamers. What I'll do is tonight, I'll get up every hour, on the hour, and see if they are open. I will call you with an update at each hour. Keep your phone on with the volume on max. ;p;p

LOL! Yes please because it is of dire circumstance that I be privy to this information 6 months prior to my sailling!..LOL

Thank you for your awesome review, I've got you on a tab on my screen and I'll be cruising along with you this week!

It's not just you btw, cruisecritic.com keeps going down for me too, they must be having server problems or something.

Thank you for posting the room service menu, we're traveling in June with 3 kids and I was wondering if they'd have stuff they'd like. :)

Thanks for the follow up on the hangers Maureen. Much appreciated. Thank you for sharing the Specialty Dining experience. I was hoping you made use of the anchovies. Maybe a light comedy sketch. There were only two so not that many parts to flesh out. It was all good though because I loved your chest burster deviled eggs. :)

Wow....small world. Robertson Drugs used to deliver to Valley View numerous times a day. Can't remember the guy who used to deliver the meds, but we all knew him very well!

Sounds like you and Maria are working well together now....yay!

We went to The Butcher's Cut for brunch. It was good. Wish we would have gone for dinner though :)

Couldn't wait to read your posts today! Thank you again for taking the time to do this and for sure your pictures and the style of your writing makes me want to come back for more......

Have a great day!!

Laura

I worked at Robertson Drug from 2000- 2014, then I got sold to Walgreens.

Enjoying following along with your review, I am not too far from Lynchburg, good to see you seem to be having a good time.

Did you ever determine why the Hawaiian Martini wasn't covered on the drink plan? I thought the basic covered all except those marked premium, and that drink didn't fall under the premium category as far as I could tell.

Though we upgraded to the premium drink package, we too booked in December 2015 when they offered the drink package and booked a bella balcony. We have been waiting a terribly long time to book.

Also on Royal if you check out the studio cabins on their larger ships (just like NCL), they don't have the surcharge of only having one person. My mother has one booked on the Harmony of the Seas, while we have a boardwalk balcony for March 2020. Again another cruise really far out into the future.

When I had the deluxe package, it covered the minibar, I don't know if that is still the case...

I just left Seaside the day you got on. It sounds like we had the same drink package (covered everything that doesn't have a star next to it on the menu) and my package did NOT include mini-bar. All we got out of there were two bottles of water, so it wasn't too expensive; but given the lack of clear documentation on the packages, someone could make and expensive mistake.

I'm enjoying reading the review, it's helping me cope with the PCD!

Just booked this cruise for September. Thank you for the fabulous review so far and wonderful photos!! We have the Drinks On Us package included with our booking and we're happy about that :) since we are pop, juice & water drinkers. LOL Thank you so much for all the laughs, look forward to more smiles as the week goes on. Have fun!

PS. Hubby has a couple questions. Any idea what is on deck 4? We are booked in OV on Deck 5 so we are curious if it is the crew cabins

? Also, any idea how many slots machines are in the casino and is it a busy place? Thanx a bunch ;)

Smooth Sailing,

DonnaF :D

Thanks for all the info! Your review is the most helpful thing I’ve read. We get on the Seaside soon and I have a question...If I don’t buy a drink package, does it look like a Coke or Pepsi can be purchased at meals? Also, approximately what do they cost?

Lord , have mercy! OK, someone who isn't paying through the snout for internet, research if the notes for song sung blue, and whoa, whoa, whoa, Delilah is the same. :loudcry:
