Silversea Water Cooler: Welcome! Part Five

The great funnies posted by mysty and others are very, very popular.  During these challenging periods, we need the laughs and distractions from normal life in these times.  I shared a few recent ones that had been posted here at the Cooler with a wide variety of friends.  Among those voted "most loved" were the husband buried in the garden conversation, the "Knock Knock" Jehovah Witness calling and the two cats talking item.  Keep 'em coming!!  Below are a couple among many that a friend just sent to me.  Will share more later.

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

Which one of the three below do you like the most?  Most identify with and understand?  Light blue, black or orange??   Had forgotten about the important "health qualities" associated with tomato juice becoming a beneficial Bloody Mary!!  I'll drink to that refreshing idea.

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

Ha!  We went to the liquor store yesterday and bought all sorts of goodies to try in "new to us" drinks.  DW loves her jigsaw puzzles while I’m in love with the “3 Ingredient Cocktail" book I got her for Christmas.  Aren’t I a swell guy?

BTW... your recipe above is downright nasty! 🤢

Love your photos Terry. The blog you did of your Norway cruise inspired us to book it the next year.   It was wonderful.

Appreciate these great comments and follow-ups from jillyf and QueSeraSera.  Glad to hear that I was able to help with your planning and enjoyment when sailing the scenic Norway coast.   It's wonderful area to explore.  Seems doubtful that Silversea and other cruise lines will be able to explore there this summer.  Sad.

From an afternoon walk in our ravine area, below are a few visual samples.  Hope they brighten your day during these challenging periods.

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

In our nearby wooded ravine area, below are a couple of the wild flowering examples we enjoyed this afternoon.  Third is one of the ducks in the creek near near our home.:

M, please don't post those funnies after working hours. I almost wasted a mouthful of wine laughing at it!

And our local store is really slow with orders, so wine is a precious resource these days...they haven't filled my order that I placed last Thursday yet!

On a serious note, the second day of work from home went well. Now relaxing in the hot tub with an Albariño (no, autocorrect, not with an albatross...lol)

Exit 9 W&L has curbside pickup, and many cars in the parking lot.  The one industry not seeming to be devastated by the pandemic.

Empire Wine in Colonie does that too - pull in, pop your trunk, and tell them (via their website) what spot you're in. They bring it out and put it in the trunk. My first order a few weeks ago was pretty quick, ready the following afternoon. But I put my latest order in on a Thursday morning, and it wasn't ready until the following Wednesday, after dinner!

Will have to try Exit 9 next time - we like both stores, so best to spread the business around. 😉

We also had a few visitors at our bird feeder yesterday. This red-bellied woodpecker is pretty, unless he's pecking holes in our cedar siding... You can actually see the red belly in this shot.

The cardinal is looking at him like he's an interloper. And, probably wondering why he holds on to the rail so funny!

Well, almost time to sign on to the work network and see what today has in store. Happy Monday everyone!

Fantastic shots JP!  Since this is our first spring at the new house, we are happy to have the same "usual suspects" at the feeder.  Lots of woodpeckers, including the Redbellys, no Pilated as of yet.  We had several Carolina Wrens sitting on the little doggie fence on the front porch, right outside my office window, singing their little hearts out.  Home isolation is working out well, I'm getting a butt-ton of work done that was going slow due to my recent medical excitement.  Hoping that when we get to go back to the office, I can go back full time, instead of the 2 half days a week I was able to do in mid March.    I was in the office Saturday (vendors appreciated getting paid, I'm sure), and downtown by the Capital building looked like a ghost town, complete with tumbleweeds blowing across State Street.  Even the spring sighting of the Hawks of Hawk Street were missing.   Very strange times.    Stay safe my local friend, hope to get to meet you & Chris as well as the FlyingScots once the 2020 Plague is passed.

Terry, the mallard photo is fantastic, as if it posed to show its colors for you.

Appreciate the nice comment from our Richmond, Va., "neighbor" QueSeraSera.  Yes, the angle on this duck worked well in showing his eye, color, face, etc.  With my good camera, I shot a number of different pix's and angles.  Then, picked and edited the one that worked best.  Nice bird views from J.P.

Great that many excellent "funnies" are being shared to help bring some lightness during these challenged days.  Below are three that I saw and liked.  We all need to laugh and keep moving forward during this time period.

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio
