It's been busy here at the Cooler and on these CC Boards.  Lots of activity and interest as we seek to stay busy, pass time during these unique times, learn and share more, etc.  Was busy this am with a meeting, calls, etc.  Sorry for my delay in posting today.

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

Hi Terry, no need for apologies.😃    Life can still take place.   I had a nice lunch out with an old friend from where I worked.

We had a really nice visit😃.   After wearing shorts every day around the house, I even put on jeans and actually wore

some eye make up!

Glad you enjoy lunch out.  However, so very sorry, Lois, that eye make up would not help my looks and/or be very pretty.  That's why I avoid lipstick and skirts.  I'm a Terry, not a Terri.

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

I think it must have been my father who talked about it;

Isn't it fun how the music our parents listened to carries on within us?  From my folks: Ray Charles, Harry Belafonte esp. Day-O, &  Doris Day ( 😉).  Not to be nosy, but would be interested to hear any others.

My dad was country and western old style.  Grand Ole Opry old school.  Not my taste and yet very important to him.

Hi Coolers, busy day today. We took the day off and drove 2h south, to Croton Reservoir (a bit north of NY City). There we went to the Croton Gorge Park, where there is a reservoir with waterfalls around the dam. Very pretty!

From there, we drove back northward along the east side of the Hudson, stopping now and then at 10 other waterfalls along the way. One was closed, one was dry, one we couldn't find, but the rest were pretty and all in all it was a fun day. We stopped for lunch around 2PM and had a nice meal at an outdoor patio overlooking the Hudson.

Tomorrow, we will repeat the process, this time on the west side of the Hudson. A few pix to follow.

Same here,Terry.  Hadn't realised that you posted every day, and you should not feel obliged to, but I enjoy your 'old' funnies, many of which I have not seen before.

My own girlhood music choice actually was traditional jazz, so although  I am pretty ancient it predates me by quite a lot!  It was very popular in the UK in the mid fifties, and the then current pop was pretty dire - the likes of Mario Lanza singing Be  My Love etc.  It all improved with the start of rock and roll.  But my favourite pop era has to be the Beach Boys time.

Things in the UK not improving generally, with new conflicting  advice re Covid, and problems even more than usual with the EU!  Best not to watch the news or even read the papers.

I am beginning to feel it is time to hibernate.

Terry.....keep the posts and valuable info you provide for our benefit coming.  Many thanks it is appreciated

Appreciate so much the above from brimary and Lola's kind: "Same here,Terry.  Hadn't realised that you posted every day, and you should not feel obliged to, but I enjoy your 'old' funnies, many of which I have not seen before."

Good or bad, I have many more "items" prepared and ready to post in the future.  Clearly, we need any and all "distractions" to help us pass through these challenging times when our abilities to travel and do other normal activities has been limited.

For Spins/Candy, I just saw this headline in the Miami Herald saying: "Here come the Miami Hurricanes — pandemic or not — in long-awaited football opener."   Her college football team kicks off its season tonight at 8 pm.  Will Spins be watching?  Tonight is also the opener for the pro's, the NFL, here in the U.S.

Have a couple of "BONUS" postings below.

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

Hi folks,  JP,  great pictures........you need to find someone to get you in the photo too.😀

Thanks, Lois. Chris and I take pix of each other, so I only have pix of her on my phone. Unless I do a selfie of both of us...

We ended up staying closer to home today, as the weather looked awful in the south. Found some nice scenery at Huyck Preserve in Rensselaerville.

They had a lake to walk around, and a cute pond.

20200910_100843(0).thumb.jpg.f4b4d03c6eace3de5268ecad679cc3a6.jpg

But it was raining the whole walk back so not as much fun... Even with raincoats we got wet. And annoying, because the rain wasn't supposed to start until afternoon.

Of course there was a waterfall!

It looks better without us in the way...
