That's pretty cool.

In two suite experiences, that has never happened to us in Los Angeles.

Ditto on our only suite on Princess also out of LA.

Same for Celebrity out of Seattle and Royal Caribbean out of Baltimore.

Last month we had our first suite.  As we were checking in, a gentleman came over and took our carry on bags and literally escorted us onto the ship, all the way to Club Class dining for lunch.  Does this happen every time one has a suite or was this specific to San Francisco?

This did NOT happen to us April 6, 2019 as we boarded the Royal. We were in a Penthouse Suite. Quite the opposite occurred. In fact, I compared the difference in suite treatment experience to our NCL Haven experience in my LIVE review. I sure hope Royal Princess folks get it better for our cruise next year. Loved the cruise otherwise!

Same here.....had a full suite last year on Regal Princess TA out of Fort Lauderdale and there was no special treatment.....not that we need it as many times as we have cruised with Princess.....

What link are you looking for?  Not sure what you are asking.

He doesn’t think the literature says you get an escort on and off the ship. I don’t think it does either.

If you go back to post #89. They included link for suite benefits.  The brochure says priority vip  embarkation and vip debarkation at beginning and end of cruise. So Some people on this thread have been escorted on the ship at embarkation.

It states VIP Priority...in the Princess Suite brochure.

All that means is that you have priority embarkation boarding passes which is a separate line when checking in, and often times a dedicated check in desk.  So, you don't end up standing in lines to check-in, but I've not experienced an escort to the ship and to a dining room or the cabin.

Neither did we. IMO suite passengers should receive special service. The brochure is a bit misleading. On NCL and other lines suite passengers get  a special escort on and off of the ship. That is considered the VIP service. Priority is for elite etc...

As I am reading this thread, it looks like the escort policy is in effect from ship to ship as opposed to port to port or fleetwide.  This would be a good question at a Meet & Mingle (Meet & Greet if you prefer) when the Hotel General Manager is present.

Just as it says you have VIP priority disembarkation at tender points - you get a ticket.

We were escorted to Michael's (concierge lounge) on the Celebrity Constellation. When our suite was ready, we were escorted to the room. Process was the same in 2014 and 2016. I'm looking forward to being in an aft PH on the Sky in December. It will be the 'Inaugural Getaway' and suspect the crew may be on their best behavior. However, I'm not expecting an escort. I've heard the christening will be the evening before we sail and the ship may be full of dignitaries, press, TA's, etc.

They will need to understand you are the paying customer, thus a dignitary yourself...:classic_unsure:
