Vista 3 cruises cancelled !

 If you are booked on The Vista  For  7-6-19  , 7-13-19 or 7-20-19  Carnival has announced this morning per  JH  These 3 cruises  have been cancelled , Vista is out of service , Full  refunds will be given ,

They are also offering besides the full refund, a 100% off next cruise if booked before 12/2020.  Free cruise! Can't beat that!

Not every cancelled  cruise gets the same things. I was booked on the Triumph when it was in Galveston in 2013. They cancelled my cruise because it was stuck out in Gulf. I rescheduled it for later the same month and was cancelled again! I finally cancelled it. All I got was refund and 25% off coupon that I never ended up using. Now I am booked on Vista for next Feb.

Holy cow, that's rough!

I've been through storms but all my cruises have made it out to sea... I've certainly missed a port or two to wind or medical emergencies.
 

So let me rephrase... Man I wish I was booked on one of the tree currently cancelled cruises!

Oh my.  Please post any and all future cruising plans on this board, so the rest of us know to avoid booking any ships you're on.  Just kidding, hope your Vista cruise is uneventual and fun.

Ok, here's the dilemma for us...  My sister had a free cruise booked on the July 6th sailing on the vista with a $500.00 casino cash (premier cruise) and I had paid for my cruise but still had a $1000.00 casino cash.  My son is in the room with my sister and my husband and I are in the other cabin.  Because I can't get any response from the casino host (it seems like it would be easier to find Jimmy Hoffa than someone from the casino), we can't book our summer cruise.  Any suggestions?  I do think that they should offer us what we originally had, but not fighting the casino cash as much.  Just trying to get the free cabin that was originally booked.

Do you have a PVP?   I always use mine and would run that past him if I was in that situation.

Actually I'm a travel agent, but we are still very limited getting to the Casino people.  They are an enigma!

You can still get a room for the 6/23 sailing. $869 interior, $1079 oceanview, $1389 balcony, $2219 suite! I would have thought they would have dropped the price some.

Carnival, and most other cruise lines, finally learned over the last few years that bad PR is much more expensive than opening up their pocketbooks. It's very common now to hear of generous offers right off the bat.

Not sure whether I am amused or bemused, but Carnival's reaction and offers to the affected cruisers on the Vista was far better than what happened to the cruisers who were booked on cruises to Cuba - especially when you compare to what other cruise lines offered as compensation.  Yeah, a lot more folks affected by the Cuba thing, over time, than the Vista changes and cancellations, but the inconsistency may stick is some people's throat a bit...
