Andrew, if you can remember when on ship, can you post the beverage pkg price and internet pkg price?  We are D+ C&A and will figure out or discount and convert it over to our CDN Peso cost. Decision to pre-buy or wait with the C&A disc.

Many thanks.

Have a wonderful cruise - I love your live reports and whilst I can’t manage Star Class I am lucky enough to be sailing on the Oct 13th Harmony cruise.

Wendy

I have alway said you just need to be on board. It’s how you make your own fun. That’s the key. We did the same last year in a balcony and I bet the fun levels will be the same. You will have a blast.

Oh I know we will! When I look back over our many cruises I remember the fun my mum and I (who is now 85) have had whether it be in an inside stateroom or our one and only suite! Doesn’t mean I don’t love living vicariously through your reports - the joy you all have for life shines through.

Praise be. HMT reference. 😉

It is the trips that all of us have have made that we will reflect back upon in time. Even the difficult ones. They make us stronger and make us who we are.

Florida Grits aren’t for this Canadian boy. Tried them with cheese and butter. Cleaned off that layer and tried them with honey. Should have tried maple syrup.

Worth a shot, but no bueno.

This southern girl likes her grits, with butter, with cheese and especially with shrimp.  You know GRITS means "girl raised in the south".  Yea, deffinetly a southern thing.  Still 111 days still we borad the new and improved Oasis of the Seas but whose counting,so I am living life thorugh you this week. Bon Voyage   ( please excuse the attached photo. I am obviously not tech savvy and hit something that attqached a work email I sent.  )

Your raisins = my grits.  Doesn't matter what you put on top...can't get past the consistency.

Owen in the limo...priceless.  😀😀

Photo of our post security discussion with a friend.  It was Owen that got the one over. His iPad was what they were looking at.

We have never had an experience like that before. Needless to say we are through and done. And any hangry has been resolved. Now our scheduled landing time is 7:11, when originally it was 5:05. The joys of travel.

I had a very similar experience when  I left Syracuse in May for FLL and a cruise.

At the security walk through machine the alarm went off. I went through again and another alarm. They pulled my carry

on over to a table and escorted me over and placed my purse on the table. They did another pat down and then took a strip and rubbed it on my arms and the computer alarm goes off. She proceeds to take out everything in my purse going through everything-- even the money. With another special strip of paper she rubs it on the  purse and the alarm goes off. Meanwhile I am a nervous wreck since my flight leaves at 6 am and I am stuck in security.

More strips of paper and she rubs around the edge of the suitcase--ALARM ! Finally she calls the supervisor over. There is no evidence of contraband and drugs SINCE THERE ARE NO DRUGS OR CONTRABAND. Meanwhile 30 minutes have gone by my clothes  and suitcase content are all over the table. I am thinking the plane will be boarding shortly without me.

After the agent and supervisor talk they decide to send me on. She asked me if I used lotion. I said yes. ( I put lotion on all the time and through the day ).  She said sometimes that sets it off. Why couldn't she have asked me that before ?

They should inform the public not to put it on the day before and the day of the the flight.

So all the things I had packed the day before and the day of the flights were touched by hands that had cream on it.

That is why the money and all parts of the luggage had the lotion remnants on it. The thing is it is a plain lotion and has no scent or perfume in it.

I tried to stuff my formally neat clothes into the luggage to race to the gate. They had started to board. i made it but it was a terrible way to start a vacation. While I was leaving they wheeled over an elderly woman in a wheel chair over. I assume she got the same treatment.

I had that happen at the Rochester airport.  I set off the alarm, which I fully expected as I have 2 artificial knees.  After the pat down, TSA used the strip on my hand and the alarm went off.  I was taken to another room, where I had to pull up my shirt, pull the waist of my pants down a bit, got wanded again from head to toe.  The agent went through my purse, and I was getting nervous as I, too, thought I was going to miss my plane.  I asked the agent what was the next thing.  She said she didn't know and the other one with her didn't know either.  I thought there goes my cruise!

Finally one of them asked me if I used hand lotion.  I said yes, when I took my shower that morning, I used body lotion and hand lotion.  Both sets of eyes lit up and the one agent that had done the pat down said, I believe that's what's doing it as lotions sometimes set off the alarm.

This was last year and I have not used any lotion at all when I am going to fly.  I don't want to have to go through that ever again.

Sorry to hijack this thread.  I am enjoying it and we sail on Harmony again in Jan.

Sounds like you are off to a great start! Looking forward to following your adventures. One thing  I asked if John could look into is that apparently the Windjammer has a chocolate buffet one night that is not in the planner. I have heard on night five. I would love if you could confirm through sight or taste buds. Thanks and have fun!
