Captain David Christie passes

A long-time Princess captain, who commanded Grand Princess, Captain Christie was based at the company's headquarters in Santa Clarita, California and was responsible for overseeing all of the maritime operations of the line's growing fleet. A 36-year P&O Princess Cruises veteran, Christie first took to the sea as a cadet with P&O in 1966. In 1975 he joined the original Pacific Princess, as a navigator and rose through the ranks aboard many of the vessels in the Princess fleet. In 1992 Christie earned his captain's stripes and took his first command aboard Island Princess. He has commanded many of the company's vessels, including leading Sea Princess at her inaugural in 1998.

Don't know the man at all, but I always figured their must some senior Captain at HQ.  You posted a very nice concise tribute.

Amen to that, Alan even gave the veterans obc to us Aussie troops, retired and serving.
