Mabs Posted September 26, 2019 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2019 Now's the time to buy!!! One of our best investments. The on board credits are better than any interest we can earn.
canadianbear Posted September 26, 2019 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2019 We’ve had the stocks for years and used to the ups and downs. Only one in my portfolio I will not sell until we can’t cruise any longer.

Gigi1977 Posted September 26, 2019 #5 Share Posted September 26, 2019 Buy now! We bought at a higher price 6 years ago. Never have regretted it! It pays every time we cruise in OBC!
fatcat04 Posted September 26, 2019 #6 Share Posted September 26, 2019 (edited) Great investment even if you don't cruise more than once every year or two. OBC and nice dividends. We have the shares in the 401k. Bought them long ago and just let them ride. Edited September 26, 2019 by fatcat04
ricka47 Posted September 26, 2019 #7 Share Posted September 26, 2019 If we buy the stock today, can the benefits be applied to current bookings? Also, if we used a TA, do we just contact them once we have the stock?

It's supposed to be sent in 3 weeks prior to sailing. https://www.carnivalcorp.com/shareholder-information/shareholder-benefit https://www.carnivalcorp.com/static-files/50351a91-4dc0-4f6b-bfec-684647e6129f Edited September 26, 2019 by I like vacation add info

canadianbear Posted September 26, 2019 #10 Share Posted September 26, 2019 From December 2018 to December 2019 we will have used this stock for 7 out of our 8 cruises! (One we couldn’t use it was on Celebrity). It has been a great investment over the years.
Lazy Lakes Posted September 26, 2019 #11 Share Posted September 26, 2019 I have send the information on last minute cruises less then 2 weeks and got the share benefit. You have to fax it. I check up to make sure it is applied . When you book a back to back try to book it separate if it is cheaper to do so, otherwise you get only one credit instead of 2. Krazy Kruizers Posted September 26, 2019 #13 Share Posted September 26, 2019 Great investment considering that we bought the stock when it was around $12 a share. 2
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 26, 2019 #14 Share Posted September 26, 2019 We sent a recent copy of that part of our stock ownership to out TA. She takes care of sending a copy to HAL. Once she gets confirmation back from HAL, she sends us a copy.
BaltimoreCruise Posted September 26, 2019 #15 Share Posted September 26, 2019 All, I have two questions for those of you with CCL stock. My husband has maybe 60 shares of CCL in an IRA account. If he purchases an additional 40 shares outside of the IRA account, will CCL accept the combined shares from two separate accounts (owned by the same person) as OBC eligible? I make the HAL cruise reservations and my husband is always listed as the second passenger in the cabin. Would we still qualify for the OBC since I am the first person listed on the reservation and he owns the stock? Thank you. BaltimoreCruise
Rare VMax1700 Posted September 26, 2019 #16 Share Posted September 26, 2019 Do the other CCL brands give a stockholder credit?

That’s exactly what we are doing for our upcoming cruises. Since it’s not a Collector cruise it is classified as two.

Call CCL and ask. It does not matter who is the first person on the reservation, but you can only get one credit per cabin. Just off a cruise where I used the CCL in my IRA and the cruise listed my DW first.

It only states that 1 person has to own at least 100 shares to qualify for the OBC. But as someone stated you'd be best to call CCL and get a clarification. This depends on the length of the cruises... Two 7 day cruises = $100 + $100 = $200 One 14 day cruise = $250 (Correct?)

You always have to do the math, and compare it to the price of the cruises booked as one or as separate cruises.
ricka47 Posted September 26, 2019 #24 Share Posted September 26, 2019 Just bought 100 shares today. On the link above it notes that the OBC "cannot be used for casino credits/charges and gratuities charged to your onboard account." I can understand the casino concern but wonder why the OBC can't be used for gratuities?
