Loving this review. We board on March 21st and only been on one other Carnival cruise (Princess people) so lots to learn. This trip is all about the ship for us - not planning on getting off at any of the ports. Not only have we done them all before multiple times, but we are also doing the exact itinerary the week prior on Royal Princess. LOL.

Your pictures are fabulous - I feel like I already know the ship without even setting foot on it. Can you confirm that the gelato station is free if it is in the buffet? That should keep the kids happy. I've been reading a lot about the Havana Bar - I know the sundeck is only for people booked in Havana, right? What about the bar? I would LOVE to do a Havana cabin but it will be a few years until my youngest is over 12....

You can go to guest services if it is after the time for priority tendering and they will escort you down directly.  At least that is how it used to be.  But if you go at 10:45 to your meeting place you'll only be like 1/2 hr. early at the pier.  You meet right there on the tender pier.

Open tendering didn't happen till after 12:30 pm

Loving this review! I am going on my first Carnival ship next month and this review is entertaining and totally informative. I am also a regular solo cruiser but this time I have one of my best friends going since we are embarking out of SF and it's a short drive for us! Seems like you may have called it an early night tonight.

If Early seating is at 5:30 now, what time is late seating?  Thx!

I don’t think it has changed on all sailings, maybe a trial? I’m not positive but I think late was at 7:45. I will find my Fun Times to verify and correct if I’m wrong.

Wow after dinner I came back to the room to change out of elegant clothes. I laid down for a minute and looked at the fun times, next thing I know it’s 2:30am. I just slept 7 hours.

I probably needed that because I haven’t had sleep like that since before the day I left. My problem now is I’m wide awake at 2:30am. This isn’t the schedule I want. I need to get some more sleep. 8 hours is pretty much the max for me though.

I know you're happy about that. I guess we'll have to get used to it, though we're not fans.😎

They did that on our Glory cruise in February, and we were not fans of doing that as well. But we will get used to it, like the sugar straws, it’s nothing to ruin my vacation. Just a minor irritation.

Good morning, Greg! I’m up and ready for more review! I hope you were able to get back to sleep. As someone with chronic insomnia, I know how difficult it is to fall back to sleep once woke up. Last year, the week prior to my Breeze cruise, my sleep cycle was all messed up, and by the time I arrived in Port Canaveral the day before our cruise, I was totally exhausted! The day I wanted to spend sight seeing, I just crashed, and was asleep that night by 7:30! It took several days to get my sleep cycle back on track.

As always, thank you for posting these. We are sailing this Saturday on Panorama and this is helping me plan out the week immensely.

Have a great day in Cabo!

Carnival Fun Ship Cocktail Recipe · Ingredients. 1/2 oz. Amaretto. 3/4 oz 151 Rum. 3/4 oz Vodka. 1/2 oz Apricot Brandy. 4 oz Fruit Punch recipe: 2 oz. Orange Juice. 1 oz Pineapple Juice. 1 oz Sweet & Sour Mix. 1/4 oz Grenadine. .125 oz. Angostura Bitters. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and an orange slice.

Awesome. I've been making Fun Ships at home, but slightly different recipe.

1.25 oz white rum

1oz vodka

1oz apricot brandy

1oz amaretto

1oz orange juice

1oz pineapple juice

1oz sweet and sour mix

.5oz grenadine

I will have to try the recipe you posted and compare. 😊

Too bad that's not the sign for the Java Blue Coffee Shop, 515AM 🙂

Yeah that’s not what I was talking about. That was for people to see the YTD check in. I took a lot of pics this morning. This is what I was talking about

Not what I meant. I said it's too bad that's not a sign for a 515am opening for Java Blue.

Those clouds will blow out and you should have fair weather for whale watching today.
