Good morning everyone I’m home now had a couple of hours sleep, got in at 3 o’clock this morning, flight was delayed etc , we’ve had a wonderful time in Madeira explored almost everything and weather was good, just a last few photos of the last day’s dinners and chilling .As a joke the pictures of the trees that look like potatoes trees my daughters believed they were 😂😂

I have just been searching our family tree and I think one of my aunties is 80% Irish.

Her name is Iris .

 

Here's one you may like ...

 

Two Irish farmers are walking down a road towards the pub, after a long days work, when they hear a motorcycle behind them. They are totally shocked to find that when the bike passes them, the biker is headless.

The two men look at each other shocked but carry on walking .

They continue down the road because the call of the pub is getting stronger.

As they go, a cyclist comes up behind them and, on passing them, he too is seen to be headless.

The two old men now looked really shocked but carry on towards the pub ..

After a few minutes, Mick, who's walking along the inside, turns to his companion and says,

"You know what Shamus, I be thinkin' dat maybe you should be carryin' dat dere scythe on

yer other shoulder!" 😉

Happy St Patricks Day. Had some good times on this day whilst on holiday. The best was when we were visiting my brother and family in Sydney and we visited The Mercantile Hotel, Sydney's oldest Irish Bar. A few pints of the black stuff and a plate of Irish Stew. The headache next day was worth it !

It has been interesting to see Madeira and not just Funchal we see when arriving by ship.

The food looks great. I have enjoyed your photos,  but I think those scary looking fish may give me nightmares.🤣

It is Oasis of the seas.

We were docked next to Enchantment of the seas in Coco Cay on January 30th during our 7 night western Caribbean cruise.

Not a good day today.

It was our monthly sisters lunch today abd baby sister started by telling us that one of our cousins rang her this morning to tell her that another cousin had passed away last night.  When I got home I had a message to let me know that an  ex-colleague had passed away this morning. 

I am now waiting for my god-daughter to arrive with her son, I child-proofed my house before I went out in readiness for their arrival.

Now then all you foodies who have sailed on Iona or Arvia, here's a question for you, how on earth does The Quays chippy turn out such pearly white fish?  It is delicious as are the chips, but in all my years I have never come across a chippy that consistently turns out fish so white.

Good afternoon.

We have had sunshine and showers today with a high of 15°C.

We called at the beach overlooking the piers at the entrance to the River Tyne near Newcastle cruise terminal.

The beach is fenced during winter to protect the sand being swept away.
