We fly first , I really was against spending the extra but at 6’4” with a bad knee the extra room is great , free drinks and no charge for luggage isn’t bad either . I rather travel less but go with first.

We fly first as much as possible too.  My DH tries to only fly one airline for all his business travel and we save all his miles for long haul, first class flights.  We also have an airline credit card for a different airline and use those miles for shorter flights.  It comes down to priorities, first class flights are more important to us than other things, so we make it happen.

It has been raining here since 9 AM.

We finally have gotten rain in the weather bubble we seem to live in.  It began around 5am and we've had heavy rain on and off.  The Koi Pond is quite full.  We now also have a leak in our 3 Season room.  It looks like we're going to need a new roof.🫤

We fly first class when it makes sense and the price is decent.   Eric is 6'2" and I cannot stand 3 seat configurations and being stuck in the middle.

If we don't fly FC then we either buy a 3rd ticket to avoid having to be crammed or we make sure to have priority boarding and we each get an isle seat.

I remember on a business trip being in a middle seat when you have 3 men all over 6 ft and well over 200 lbs it’s not fun.  Love getting a drink in first before flight takes off . We have a friend who kept telling us we need to fly first and we ran into her a party and I told her she cost us many thousands of dollars because of her remark 😁😁

They say once you fly FC it's tough go back....so true.   I definitely enjoy the cocktail pre-flight as well as the luggage benefit.  I hate paying for luggage as much as I hate paying for parking at airport or cruise ports.

I have yet to experience a FC flight.  I hate flying more and more each time we fly.  I always check the FC prices but wow they really are a premium.

I don't mind flying but I hate all the stuff you go thru such as arrive 2 hrs early, tsa, pick up luggage at carousel, etc etc

On the booking we did the other day with American the price difference was only $110 pp so that made sense to book FC to avoid paying extra for our luggage.

oh wow - i wish the flights i’m watching were like that!  Our flights to Alaska in June were horrific so I’m really watching for a good first class price to San Juan.  I’m not holding my breath 😂

On Allure. 150 for dinner, fantastic. Just got done with Mamma Mia, it was excellent. Spent the whole time embarrassing Andrew by lip-syncing all the songs. Love it.

Our cabin has bunk beds for kids. Unfortunately, Andrew’s bunk had dirty sheets. I asked the steward to take care of it. When we returned from the show after 10:30, he had removed the dirty sheets but did not replace them, so Andrew has no bedding. Brian spent 30 min on hold after calling the number on the card, then it hung up on him. He headed to guest services in person. Hope he can use his bed soon. We have to be up early tomorrow for the ship tour.

Superb high tea/brunch  at the newly opened Midden restaurant at the Sydney Opera House.  Indigenous Chef specialises in native ingredients. Everything tasted as good as it looks.

Prior to this had done a 3 1/2 hrs Hidden House tour of the Sydney Opera House with 2 guides + 3 specialised staff - Stage Manager, stage & lighting.  Only 9 of us in the group so very personalised tour.  The High Tea was included in the tour & the staff & guides joined us (in the photos).9B399352-1923-4FF9-B97E-F81DBDCAFD04.thumb.jpeg.07bc7536ce6128cf63da0b4caa3bd4e4.jpeg

Standing on the stages of the Joan Sutherland Theatre & the Concert Hall, plus going up and seeing all the behind the scenes electronic staging equipment, seeing where the semis dock with the stage equipment, climbing up many narrow circular stairs high up into the ceiling and going up and down tiny lifts and into large lifts designed to lift extremely heavy staging equipment, getting up close to the Grand Organ and sitting in the stool.  All was fascinating. Expensive tour but worth every cent.

Yikes, now Brian just took a shower and the drain is so clogged/slow that the water on the shower floor overflowed up over the edge and flooded the rest of the bathroom. 😱

OMG!!!  And next week is the President's Cruise.  They best clean up their act (pun intended), 😂

Had that happen on three different cruises.  Thankfully in the morning, rather than late at night.  Glad they fixed it promptly for you.

Sue, what is the soundtrack to your roadtrip and who gets to choose?

I'm more of a rock chick 🤣

Gary likes everything, (apart from rap I guess) stuff from his parents generation and all decades since. As this has been his trip its mainly been his playlist

Of course 'on days like these" (matt Monroe) yesterday coming through the St Bernard pass to replicate the movie, The Italian Job. But also some Louie Armstrong, Pet Clark, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Frank Sinatra,  Gerry and the Pacemakers , Abba, Coldplay etc

In Montreux they have a giant statue to Freddie Mercury as he had a recording studio and close connections to this area. His music plays in the area

The sunset was over Lake Geneva in Montreux (other end of the lake to Geneva)

So Brian went back down to GS again and they sent someone right away. He fixed something inside a panel on the outside wall and now magically everything is working. It’s 12:40 am and I’m beat!

Glad it got fixed, hope there's no more hiccups 🙏

Too bad of the steward not to of replaced the bedding 😡
