Miss your gorgeous grandkids & dad jokes

If you are looking for advice on where to make great investments it might work to asking people from Ireland.  Think about it,  their capital is Dublin.

Yes I want to try Celebrity. It is more expensive than Royal but depends on the ship. I mocked booked the Ascent and it was 7k for a sunset veranda.

Yikes, 7k? Prices are insane. Was that coming up soon? We booked a SV on the Ascent for Nov 2025 for about 3200.00. It includes Wi-Fi and drinks, but this is an interline rate and refundable.

Just looked at our date of Nov 13, 2025 and for the SV balcony with drinks and Wi-Fi included it’s about 4000.00. That’s on the Celebrity website.

Only recent cruise was on seaside , it’s fairly new , MSc has built many ships in last few years . They have a very nice Caribbean island which had a private area for yacht club, private island had waiter service for their lunch . You would love their private lounge huge bar with a piano and live music from 5 to 11. Yacht club is similar to celebrity suites on Edge class . If you want to see a show in main theater butler will escort you to the theater . Outdoor area has a pool and hot tubs bar and you can have lunch and breakfast there loads of very comfortable lounges never an issue on finding seats . Currently wife has a very good job but when she retires in a year or two we will need to budget , but I rather do less trips and do suites and fly first . If you are diamond on rccl , MSc will give you matching status which gives you a 5 percent discount, I get a ten percent discount because I am a veteran. MSc is also moving to Galveston at end of next year.

Will they let you stack discounts? The veteran discount and the status match discount?

I haven't felt that good lately.  Life is more challenging after losing more mobility and energy.  But God's love being shown to us through so many has kept my spirit good!

Thanks for asking.

Many hugs to you.

Has anyone seen Bethany from Dallas post lately? Maybe I’m just not seeing her posts since I don’t always look to see who posts what. Can’t remember her exact name. Traveling dallas girl? Dallas traveling girl? I searched and can’t come up with it.

Sunset Verandas are always more expensive since they are on the aft and really only a true balcony as all the others are infinite verandas that are basically a window.

  @Sea Dog

Greg, we have a port hole verandah on the Beyond in April (kind of like a hull verandah as Carnival and NCL term that) which is like the first couple of balconies with round openings in the front on the Anthem if any one knows about those (quantum class) and it is a real balcony, no window like infinite v. The first few front and back on the E class. Way cheaper than sunset afts. These are not big or luxurious like the sunsets, and therefore much cheaper. Also get sold out fast. No lounge chairs, only a table and two chairs like the infinite v, but are an "actual" balcony. Our cabin is way aft and lots and lots of walking. These are on deck 6, 7, 8 and 9 very forward and aft.

I will post pictures when I go, if anyone is interested.

Sorry about the less than ideal temps at Jax Beach. That’s why we went to Punta Cana. 😁 Glad you enjoyed TacoLu. You’ve got my email so feel free to share it with your daughter if she has any Amelia Island area questions.

Thanks Bob. They’re staying with her in-laws who live in your neighborhood so they should be all set, but I appreciate the offer.

Thanks for posting the beautiful pictures of the grandkids. You have a strong and beautiful spirit that will remain strong even if your body doesn’t feel that way. I am with you in mind and spirit for continuing strength!

George I saw nov 2025 msc will be in Galveston.

I saw a eye surgeon yesterday. I have had a long time problem with a discharge from my eyes and nose and have told my gp but this time said it's worse something has to be done. Seeing commercials for all these eye diseases scared me thinking I could have something I will go blind from. Like I'm having sneezing fits where I cant stop and then I breath in and .... cant breath for about 5 seconds, cant get oxygen. My eyes are glued together in the morning etc. My eyes itch so bad I want to scratch out my eyeballs.

Well I have globbed up oil ducts in my eyes. The oil is rock hard. And he wants to do cataract surgery. But we cant until we get my eyes so I quit rubbing and scratching and ready to tear them out. He prescribed drops 3 times a day and I put a heating pad on my eyes about 5 minutes to melt the hardened oil and then wash out my eyes with hot water and baby "no more tears" shampoo. In 2 weeks I go back to see if I've gotten back to normal and he can do surgery. I'm still set to move by may 20, and have a cruise may 6, 7 days on mariner. Each eye surgery is separate. Going to be tight schedule. At least it's not a disease, just oil clogged up in my eye ducts. That's a relief.

Sorry to hear this Jane. I hope it gets better for you. My optometrist recommended this which I got. It’s an eye mask that you heat up in the microwave and the heat loosens up your tear ducts. It’s very comfortable and feels very soothing.

The mock booking I did was for April of this year so being close might account for the high price. 4K would be more in line to expect.

Yes agree about ozark kid, my thoughts and prayers are with him knowing he is having a hard time right now with life.

Thank you for the mask idea. I'd never heard of this problem. My gp acted like well it's not his area, I needed a ear nose and eye doctor, then sent me to a eye only doctor. I asked the doctor and he said now they have specialties they dont do everything. I'm just hoping this is the cause of the discharge from my nose. Its embarrassing during a Mdr meal to have my nose running. Everyone these days thinks covid? A mask sounds like a good idea to sleep with. Wow I'd never heard of this problem or had any clue what could be wrong and my gp acted like he didnt have a clue either. Thank you so much.

The balconys on carnival they call cove balconys were a big hit when they were introduced. Idk if exactly the same as they are lower decks than the ones described here. Carnivals have cut outs and usually around deck 2 and if big waves they can be closed up completely. They were novel because they are so close to the water and it was something different to be so low to the water. Supply and demand sometimes they were higher priced than regular balconys they were just a different balcony right over the water. 7A - 7C on carnival .. regular are 8A. .. though I doubt you will ever try carnival, just saying they were a hit because so low over the water. Though these must be what he is referring to when he says cut outs. They can be completely closed from waves.

It's a bummer Celebrity has reduced the AI package. It also use to also include gratuities. We are grandfathered in for our September Edge cruise.
