CL/SL future when cruising returns.

If things are as you say, then why the objection to awarding points by $ spent with Royal each cruise.

Where did I say that?  Assuming again.....hmmm....    🤨

RCI makes the rules...their house...their rules.  I play by their rules, I did not invent them.  I simply make the best of what is offered.

Strange, most all the suite guests I have talked to, have done multiple cruises, all in suites.

And in many cases, book the same cabin every cruise.  As "their" cabin.

Possiblity in the US sailings where you have refundable deposits  but I found it different in Europe.

So we can put you down as points based of $ spent. Graham even suggest 1 point per $1000 spent with Royal per cruise. I liked his idea.

Can we add what I play in the casino? Not actually if I win, just what I play. 😉

Some people around here spend way to much time worrying about what type cabins others book, how much money others spend, and what perks others get. How about just enjoy your cruise, your cabin, your perks and don't worry about anyone else. What cabin anyone stays in, how much they spend, and what perks they get is between the customer, RCI and no one else.

There is a lot to be said for just minding your own business.

But then everything on CC would get boring. Only live cruise reports and “news”. 😇

Suite deposits are NRD to US cruisers. Maybe UK is different?

In my experience  always non refundable and why we always make sure we get the cabin and date we want before booking.

Absolutely, but I see a large contingent of posters who feel their experience is watered down due to benefits others have qualified for.  😉

Stay safe, wash your hands, social distance, whatever.....

Why stop at $ spent? Take it to the next level since some $ spent are more valuable than others. For example, if Passenger A cruises once a year in an $11,000 suite and Passenger B cruises 11 times a year in a $1,000 cabin, they both spent $11,000. But Royal made more money off of Passenger A since the cost to Royal was 1 cruise vs the cost of providing 11 cruises for Passenger B.

Since the markup on drink packages is probably greater than the markup on Specialty restaurants, Royal makes more profit on someone spending $200 on drinks than they do on someone spending $200 on specialty restaurants.

EDIT TO ADD: This applies to the CL/SL as this the topic of the thread. DL would remain a loyalty lounge for repeat customers.

In fact, rename the CL/SL to High Roller / Big Spender lounge. 😁

Then they should move along somewhere else. On some ships RCI can be trying to meet the needs of up to 5600 people. If one feels that is interfering with their personal experience then perhaps booking smaller ships, or a different cruise line, that better meets ones needs is the way to go. RCI meets my needs. I don't think my experience needs to change because someone else is unhappy. They can simply go to where they are happy.

I liked it a lot better when we were discussing the CC Band.

Ravenswood winery is a fun place to visit as well.  I still have one of their famous stickers:

White Other Wine Advertisements | Militaria (US)

We were there a few years ago.  I remember the tour took out out into the vineyards.

Sadly, that wouldn't work.  If you have a total  "coin in" of $1,000, that's not what RCCL makes.  Assuming a 95% return, you receive back $950 and RCCL has a "win" of $50.  To be fair, you would have to use your net gain/loss as the number.  So, if you lose $1000, you would get 1 point.  If you win $1000, would you be willing to have one point deducted from your account?

I was wondering the same thing.

Agree. We have no issues with the current C&A system. We've never booked a suite and don't know if we ever will. My Magic 8 Ball says, "better not tell you know". 😁 We have no problem with booking OVs and balconies. Personal preference and happy to be on a ship. Good food, entertainment, drinks, accommodations, and people.

No, you can put me down as being in the neutral corner.  Once again...RCI makes the rules..I don't.   I just follow what is offered, and don't complain.  If I didn't like it....there are other cruise lines, and other modes of travel.

Bill, I just asked my lucky magic fairy to sprinkle lucky dust on you for your next ship's casino visit.

Now ......if she can live long enough to do so while waiting for us to cruise again...  😉 🦗   Sorry but my fairy seems to look more like a grass hopper.  😮 🙃

Deadly serious.  The forum is full of people who know so much more than the management of the cruise line.

Can you imagine the power they imagine that they have?  Blows my mind.
