The cancellation of cruises for Jan, Feb and March for RCCL must be tied to the amount of refunds people will ask for and the fact that their corporate bankroll isn't fat like in the past. Their scrapping for every dime.

They'll use deposits from those to pay off the refunds that are in the funnel now.

Biker19 Posted November 26, 2020 #79 Share Posted November 26, 2020 Grandeur sailed away from her usual area between Florida and Bahamas to near St Kitts - there are 4 other RCI ships in the area around St Martin where I assume they've been resupplying and changing crews.
Merion_Mom Posted December 3, 2020 #80 Share Posted December 3, 2020 With today's announcement, I hear the death knell for Grandeur of the Seas. She was only scheduled to sail out of Baltimore through March, and January and February have just been cancelled. Hail and farewell, dear Grandeur. Have a nice trip to Turkey. 😞

Rare twangster Posted December 3, 2020 #83 Share Posted December 3, 2020 (edited) Grandeur just pulled up to the pier in St. Maarten. Vision and Enchantment are at the other pier. Transferring stuff between ships? https://www.portstmaartenwebcam.com/ Edited December 3, 2020 by twangster

Lady Hudson Posted December 4, 2020 Author #85 Share Posted December 4, 2020 I will miss her! I have about 40 trips on Grandeur so she has been my home away from home. My last two trips scheduled on her were in March — 8 day trips — so not going to happen. I like Enchantment, have sailed her a few times, and will again. But Enchantment needs to add some specialty restaurants and improve the Diamond and Concierge Clubs. Grandeur was far superior in those areas, in my opinion. Next up for me is Oasis in May from Bayonne. We shall see. I really can’t see NJ let ships in for a while. Katherine
Rare Germancruiser Posted December 4, 2020 #86 Share Posted December 4, 2020 No- not a death knell- I suppose she goes to Pullmantours - but not to scrapers as of yet- that I very much dout.

The rest of Grandeur’s sailings are 8 nights or longer and closed for booking. 1

Defender1158 Posted December 14, 2020 #89 Share Posted December 14, 2020 Grandeur is now docked at St Kitts next to Rhapsody of the Seas. The Federation of St Kitts and Nevis has given both ships at least 60 days "Safe Harbor" status to stay at the pier, but not let crew ashore without quarantine procedures. This now places all four Vision class ships pier-side in the Leeward Islands, as Enchantment and Vision have been tied up at St Maarten for weeks. https://winnmediaskn.com/st-kitts-provides-safe-harbour-for-grandeur-of-the-seas/ It is anyone's guess what this means for the future of these older vessels. Koren55 Posted December 16, 2020 #91 Share Posted December 16, 2020 We booked the Grandeur’s last cruise on March 26th. It’s still sowing as one of our future cruise, but if you do a search on the cruise, it doesn’t show up, in fact, nothing shows up for the Grandeur. We’re also booked on a b2b on the Freedom, but the first, a Canada and NE cruise doesn’t show if you search. Only the short cruises are showing, with gaps for the Canada cruises. And I don’t know why they’re waiting to cancel this cruise. Full payment is coming due....

Rare twangster Posted December 16, 2020 #93 Share Posted December 16, 2020 With Empress and Majesty going to an undisclosed buyer in the Asia-Pacific region that leaves a reorganized Pullmantur on the table for Grandeur where she was supposed to go before the virus. WeMissSeaView Posted December 25, 2020 #96 Share Posted December 25, 2020 Now that Empress and Majesty have left the Fleet, Grandeur is now the oldest ship in the Royal fleet. (1996). Considering that Grandeur was originally scheduled to go to Pullmantur, Grandeur must now be the next Royal ship to depart if one leaves the fleet. smalltimecruiser100 Posted December 25, 2020 #97 Share Posted December 25, 2020 I'm on the Enchantment next Nov. Not even sure that will go (if CDC extend the no more than 7 days) but will hold on and decide at final time
