Cheers/Casino Drinks On Us

Question: My GF just booked a 5-day using one of the Drinks On Us promo's; so she gets free drinks while playing in the casino. (An obvious value)

As I understand it: If I wanted to get the Cheers package, she is required to get it as well. But she's happy with the casino-deal. In this case, can I get Cheers on my own?

Or if both of us are required to get the Cheers package; is there a credit for the lost casino-drink package?

Just hang with her in the casino and every once in a while ask for a little sip and gobble down half the drink in one gulp.  You'll be talking like a pirate in no time.  😁 🏴‍☠️

If she is the big casino player and on slots, have her put your S&S card in the machine when she is playing and as soon as she gets enough points on it, you'll have your own Drinks On Us card.

The last time a casino host tried to give me a Drinks on Us card when I already had Cheers, I asked for and received a voucher for a free Steakhouse Selections in the MDR.  Not as nice as a free Steakhouse dinner but, still something.  (Maybe I'll shoot for the Steakhouse next time 😁)

Usually the offers for Drinks on Us in the Casino are for the person who got the offer and one guest are they not?  At least all of mine have been that way.

Some offers say "and a guest", but others just say for the person that received it only.

If she hits a jackpot and his card is in the machine, they don't pay it

I wonder why.

Because you are accruing benefits for someone else which is a violation of casino rules or using their banked credits or free play.  They do go back and check to see who was in front of a machine if it hits a big jackpot and check the card in the machine. Same as in land casinos

Interesting rule. Carnival would make the same amount on each slot pull and would pay out the same, no matter who is standing in front of the machine or whose card is used. If I 'gained' benefits in doing this - Carnival wins there too.

No, they don't do that AT ALL on a land based casino. You don't know what you're talking about.I know that for a fact. My husband just last week played on my card at several different Atlantic City casinos and won MULTIPLE Jackpots necessitating 1099-G forms. All he did was present his card to the slot attendant. When they questioned him he said he was playing on his spouses card but wants the reporting form on his own card/account. No problem. The slot attendants could care less. In fact the next day he won a jackpot on his own account, and it was a slot attendant who knew him. She even asked who's card you want the taxes taken out on.

We've been doing this for years, in both Vegas and Atlantic City, and in fact have even done this on table games (roulette). My husband is a substantial gambler and has 1099G's in the 6 figures annually.

It's a few years ago, but married couples used to be able to have their accounts combined as one. That may have changed.

This makes complete sense.

Can you imagine the time and manpower it would take if every slot jackpot over $1,200 would have to be verified by a review of the video? Absolutely, positively impossible for any casino to do that as a matter of regular policy, end of story.

I agree. There's no logical or monetary difference either way (that I can think of).

100% WRONG.

Considering there are about 2 on board a day, not a problem.  Having won several, yes, they do.  They look for any reason not to pay,  Land based casinos check the 5 figure payouts not the little ones,  Takes about two seconds for them

They do at my local Indian casinos.  Before paying, you show your casino card and your ID. And no ID, no pay.

It's just a bad idea to use someone's card anyway.  If she wants to keep the offers coming, she needs to be playing on her card.  Otherwise, her offers could diminish or go away.

For the record, our local Seminole Hard Rock will pay if someone else's card is in there.  Hey, mistakes happen. Sometimes you forget to insert your card.
