We are Star Class. There is a separate podium just to the right of the terminal door. Star Class checks in there, they then escort you in to the wellness check, then to the testing area if you have people needing a test, then upstairs to check in, then on-board. Genies don’t come to the terminal.

Bags delivered to cabin and were there before we were, but we had two kids needing tests so had to wait for results.

With your kids needing tests, how long from the moment when you walked in the doors from parking until you were on the ship?

it is the nose test I assume? The shorter nose one or the deeper one? I had to take my 4 yr old today to get a negative test to return to school and she had to do both types and I tried warning her that she has to do it 4 more times coming up soon!

Thank you!

Also curious about Adventure Ocean if you have any way of finding out. If reservations are required (assume they still are), what are the time slots, how many slots can you reserve, are they filling up. Will have 3 and 4 yr old on 9/5 sailing. Thank you and have a great time!

Lets face it, they probably aren't going to fill the ships for a while until this varient is under controll.  Based on what I see here, people just don't want the hassel.

Contrary to what the cruise lines want people to think demand is very low right now...too many hoops to jump through and too many protocols constantly changing...way too much uncertainty now.

Interesting. I thought someone last week said there was 1700 passengers. Maybe demand wasnt there to increase capacity?

We were on the 8/8 cruise and there were 1700+ passengers. That was the total after refusing 235 passengers from boarding because of incomplete embarkation paperwork (vaccination and testing). It was a Wonderful trip for passengers and crew!

They had to get started back at some point...it's not for everyone at this point, but I can tell you the Equinox cruise I went on 2 weeks ago was wonderful in every aspect.  The lower capacity is a thing of beauty.

Looking forward to Allure in mid Sept...

I agree...was on the first Edge sailing and was pretty much a pre-covid experience but with only 1300 people. Celebrity however took a different approach with 95% vaccinated....something I don't agree with Royal not following. Also protocols were different in June than now ...we thought WE ARE BACK...then enters Delta.

The good part is that now all of the Allure sailings with St. Thomas as a port of call, are requiring 100% of over 12 years to be fully vaccinated...ours is one of those sailings...we would have been on Celebrity again, but this time we have 4 under 30 going, and thought they would enjoy what Allure has to offer. I am glad to see many V only venues on the dailies.

Here is a timeline of our check-in and what documents were checked at many points:

Arrive 12 (test results checked)

Inside terminal 12:15

Wellness check done for 8 at 12:45 ( test, vax and passport) white band

Kids test 12:50

Results 13:29

Check in started 13:33 (passport) tracelet

Check in finished 13:59

On board 14:06 Vax. And test results

In room 14:11

Test is the “short” one.

  • We are on Allure mid-sept.  I am wondering with the new diamond drink policy if there is any way for a diamond to get free bottled water, or will we be required to use one of our vouchers??

Depends on where you are getting it, but be prepared to do so (use coupon for water).

On board prices are always high. With the 30% D+ discount, which I think is still available, the onboard price would be $59ish.

I know in the past they would allow suite guest to get a drink and take it into CK for dinner or even order from the SL , is that still a thing?

Yup. I take my pre dinner drink over to dinner and then they grab a wine for me with dinner.

How many entrances to each bank of lifts are there, 2 on port side and 2 on starboard? I’m looking at a cruise on the Harmony for next month but there’s not much availability remaining for balcony cabins and we prefer to be near to the lifts. The deck plans don’t really make the entrances clear.

TIA

Did you use this site? The elevators are clearly marked.

Yes of course lol. It may be me being stupid but I just can’t figure out if there is one or two entrances on each side. To make matters worse, I’ve sailed on Oasis class ships several times but I can’t remember the lift set up 🙈
