Sorry I wasn't clear.  Every time I got black jack I was told it was customary to tip... not after every hand.  Sorry I don't think I worded it right.

Thanks, I got that now from one of the links you shared and I appreciate your help.  So it appears I did things all wrong.  When I bought in I bought in with $200 dollars.  Then I bid the minimum ($10) per hand initially and then slowly started raising it.  $15 per hand for a while and then $20 eventually betting $25 per hand as I found my rhythm butt ultimately settling lower bets depending on how lucky I felt.  At the end of the session I pocketed my chips and left.  The next session I just pulled the chips from my last session out of my pocket and started again without any cash buy in.  It would appear I did everything wrong LOL.

In my scenario I should have bought in with $500 instead of $200.  I should have started with $25 per hand and then settled on $10 to $15 depending on how lucky I was feeling after 4 or 5 hands.  At the end of the session I should have gone to the cashier and cashed out and began my next session later that night or the following day with a fresh $500 buy in irrespective of winnings or losses and started the whole process again with the higher bets and settled lower after 4 or 5 hands.

Am I understanding this correctly?

Ok you just brought up another scenario. Most players start low and if you win you press your bet. Meaning you increase your bet every win until you get to a point where you are not willing to lose more. Once you lose you go back to the minimum bet and start over.

Before calling Casino Royale, I did some mock bookings and chose a 5 niter on the Navigator sailing on December 4 out of Port Canaveral.  Also, noticed that an balcony cabin was cheaper by $14 than the interior.

Armed with this information, I called Casino Royale to make the reservation and the agent was surprised of the minor price differential  between the cabins .  Plus, on top of the gratis cruise, I was told by CC members that it's also eligible for 2X points.  Since I'm sailing solo, I'm hoping to get 4X points.😆

That will be a neat trick, since the Navigator will be in San Pedro/Los Angeles.

So I'm not a big gambler but have discovered that I enjoy some time in the casino aboard a ship.  My first foray into the casino was on Adventure Dec 2019.  I watched some of the table games but only play the machines.  This last time, on Serenade in August, I spent substantially more time in the Casino.  I played a couple machines but then switched to Blackjack and loved it.  I pushed through substantially more money and spent at least double, maybe triple, the amount of time in the casino.  After the cruise was over I checked my point on clubroyaleoffers.com and it tells me that I have 148 points.  After the cruise back in December 2019 I had accumulated over 200 pts.

How are the points calculated for table games vs machines?  Not that I'm ever going to gamble enough to get to prime but with nine cruises coming over the next eighteen month it might be possible for me to accumulate enough points for some kind of benefit short of prime status.

I just want to understand the process.

I watched a player with 3 relatives tap his card on three machines at once,  They all played on his at one time. No rotating needed at all.  My wife and I play side by side on my card or her card at once all the time.

Exactly

The only way that you achieve your suggestion is to rotate playing the slots eg: Only one player at the time using the same sea pass.   On land, it's much easier because you can get multiple loyalty cards with the same account number and play different slots , therefore, achieving your suggestion.  But at these casino your sea pass has a different account than your spouse or a friend.

You can tap your card on more than one machine at a time and play multiple machines under the same card all at the same time. My wife will set herself up on one machine and I will take herd card and go play another machine...when she is done she will grab her card and set herself up on another and so on.

Between the 2 of us we accumulated over 8000 points on our recent Odyssey 8 night sailing getting us a free junior suite plus a second free cruise....and walked away with $...it was a good cruise.

I thought you had to leave your card in the slot machine while playing.  If you just "tap" the card and then move it to another machine, how can they tell how many times you played or how much you gambled/put at risk?  Or are you saying before she "cashes out" she comes back to get her card and then reinserts it and then cashes out?  If the later, that would be a neat trick...

You do NOT leave your card in the machine like land based casinos....you just tap and play...it will keep you logged in for as long as you play.

By the way to the Op.  I'm not a big gambler and on my Sept. 5 Oasis sail I accumulated some 140 points.  In my cabin on the last night was a coupon for $100 off a next cruise.  The week after  I got home there was a postcard from Casino Royale for a free cruise with 4 different ships an different itineraries of 3-5 nights.  This applied to an interior cabin and covered the period of October-December '21.

Before calling Casino Royale, I did some mock bookings and chose a 5 niter on the Navigator sailing on December 4 out of Port Canaveral.  Also, noticed that an balcony cabin was cheaper by $14 than the interior.

Wow I'm surprised to hear you received the free cruise offer with only 140 points.  Were you a prime member before this cruise?

No, not even close.  The best I would do was when they exchanged points for gifts such as key chains, polo shirts, t-shirts, etc.

I guess in the beginning it was frustrating as the in the middle of a round or when in a long bonus round, the green changed to red and I had to chase all over the casino to find my wife and get her key or vice versa.  Not big gamblers and wasn't worth the aggravation.

This is definitely how I play blackjack - increase the bet once you’ve won a little so you’re gambling with their money 🙂

My understanding is you get 1 point for every $5 spent on the slots.

Are we sure this is the conversion rate for points on the slot machine?

I ask because I am trying to figure out if it makes sense to try to reach the next level in the casino hierarchy.  (we're Choice now)  In other words, if I need 2500 points to move up, can I save money on cruises by spending money on the casino?  I'm not really a gambler, so the casino really doesn't interest me, but Mrs. King does play the slots a little.

Here's what I figure.  Tell me where I am wrong.  I'm going to assume it will cost me $1,000.00 (Google says slots return 90%) on average, per year, to maintain the new level.  That's assuming I win better than average and I can play at times where points are assigned at a level greater than 1  to 5.

Just using those figures, I figure I need to cruise just once per year in order to break even.  (I did a sample cheap cruise, it was $1,250.00)  As we typically cruise 4 times per year this would seem like a winning (forgive my pun) deal.

Are there other discounts?  For example, we only sail in in suites.  Are the suite upgrade prices cheaper than the standard prices?  We don't really drink so the vouchers we currently get more than cover that expense.  Are casino cruise available for all the bookings Royal offers?  Can I use them for others guests that I pay for?  (I assume no, but this could impact the calculation if yes)

Thoughts?

Senior moment. You are correct.  Offer included Mariner out of Los Angeles, but it was a 3 & 4 nighter and not worth when you take the air fare cost. The correct vessel was Mariner OTS.
The specific offer is as follows:

I have read that it is 1 to5 points from several different CC posters as well as tried it for myself. I typically play table games so if I am on my last cruise prior to the March 31st deadline, I usually ask the casino host what my points are and if close I hit up the slots to push me over the 2500 point level. Once you get over the 2500 points you will be given a free interior room for any cruise up to I believe 7 days in length.

I use this interior room for the cruise and then pay to upgrade to either a balcony or suite. My last cruise out of Barcelona I was able to upgrade to a balcony for less than $200 per person. Also, during the year you will receive other offers for either money off a booking or another interior room. I am prime and I currently have 5 free rooms available to me (well three as 2 expired yesterday). Some are for 3-5 days and some are for 7 days but only on certain ships at certain times.

I figure $1000 would get you a free interior with no problem.

Mr. Cigar King, after reading you post, my head started spinning.  Yes, the ratio on slots is 5 x 1.  If  I go with Google's 90% return on every $ bet on slots, I'd have a lot more cash in my pocket.  I wish I only lost an average of 10% of my betting moneys.  I laugh when I go to Las Vegas and they advertise 98% return on slots.  Also, each denomination has a different % return.  There was a publication that used to put out % returns by casino and denomination.

As stated, I'm not a heavy bettor and was surprised when I received the offer after coming back from the Oasis sail.  Maybe the Casino takes other factors into consideration.  I have received $ off on future cruises, but never a free one.  By the way, the Agent (Ryan) that I spoke with went out of his way to guide me through the process.  He also mentioned that based on his experience Wednesday's are the days for best fares.  Right or wrong I can't say, but when I did a mock booking on Tuesday vs. Wednesday, the difference in price between interion and balcony was $220 higher for the 5 niter.

Between the 2 of us we played with around a total of $2500...had up and downs but ended up ahead at the end of the 8 nights....only play slots.

Did you cash in any points for free play during cruise?

No I wouldn't even know how to do that.  I played a little bit of slots the first couple of days but was hemorrhaging money fast.  I had watched the black jack tables for a while and since mostly understood the rules felt confident to give it a try.  Thankfully, because of reduced capacity, I was alone the first time I sat down and the dealer was kind and helped me with rules for things like splits and double etc... I ended up sticking to the black jack tables for the rest of the week. I had one $200 buy in and played with that all week.  I ended up with a little more than $200 in chips by the end of the week so was quite happy with how the whole thing went.

I learned to keep an eye on the green light and the points count.  I learned that after I cashed moneys earned, that the points count on the slots start for 0 again.  However, your overall total points are being maintained.

Thanks for posting the list.  If I am understanding that correctly, only some cruises are casino cruises and those cruises are communicated to you via offers.  In other words, I can't just book any old cruise I want and get a special casino rate.

What happens if I book a cruise and it becomes one of the casino offers?  Can I get a credit for that cruise?

FWIW, I'm inclined to just get the 2500 points and see how things works out.  I have a lot of OBC on some of my upcoming cruises and might as well blow some of it on this experiment.

The tier credit cruise you earn for the 2500 points can be used on any cruise. The other special offers shown for me is for certain itineraries. If you noticed, the second offer also says $200 off any cruise. This means I can get an interior of specific cruises or $200 off any cruise. If you book a cruise and you later get an offer for that cruise you can call the Club Royale desk and apply the offer. They will transfer the money paid to OBC.
