Is the spa & library open? Also are there still bridge lessons?. We are on January 28th cruise & the following one & are looking forward to it. Not as much fun wearing masks, but we will board our "mystery cruise" since we probably will be going to different ports than the ones we signed up for. From reading posts, food is still terrific & that's good with us. Just looking forward to warm weather & meeting some new people. Thank you to those who are posting.

The Library is open.  The Spa looks to be open and Oceania advertising specials frequently, but I have not use any of the services.

Now it begins:  Captain just announced that we aren't going to Grenada tomorrow, and they are reconfirming all following stops with the local authorities.  No mention of the big C word relating to onboard conditions.  Good news:  instead of sailing in circles tomorrow, we will stay in Barbados overnight and until 7 pm tomorrow and passengers can leave the ship to visit the island.

Grenada gave us the stiff arm on our 12/23 cruise also - they seem to be very sensitive to C numbers compared to Barbados and St. Maarten.  Ironic that the Barbados testing that was required for us didn't affect our stop in Barbados, but cancelled Grenada, Antigua, and Curacao.  Thanks, Barbados.

Tuesday the CDC added 22 countries to its Level 4/Do Not Visit list including Grenada, St. Kitts and St. Lucia. That may be why you are staying in Barbados. Keep fingers crossed for the latter two.

Barbados has been a level 4 for some time (even during our cruise).  I don't think the port cancellation is related to the CDC recommendations, but tied to the ports actively denying ships - theoretically based on C positivity rates.

I see on the current list that Sint Maarten is now a level 4 - they were still a level 2 on 1/1 when we visited.

I think 9 pm….maybe the main dining is 9:30…but no place to go for a snack..we found Horizons has a coffee set up but no little treats to go with it…. Maybe I am missing some place…..

No, you're not missing anyplace. Oceania isn't really that kind of cruise line. There's room service.

On an unrelated post from 2020 a search I did appears to indicate that you may have stayed in cabin 6084 on Insignia.

If so, was your Balcony view unobstructed? I know the last B2 cabin (one beyond 6084 and beyond 6087 on the other side) have cleaning equipment stored aft of them. But, I just want to make sure that it doesn’t affect 6087 (port) and 6084 (starboard).

Thanks for your help.

Can someone tell me about cabin #9135? We are on the February 19 cruise. I think it is towards the aft. Hopefully it will not be too much rock and roll.

We were in 8131 on the 12/23 cruise, which is almost directly below 9135.  I would expect a lot of engine vibration when underway, but the rock and roll was no problem.

Great day in Barbados today.

Oceania has also cancelled the mandatory Covid tests planned for tomorrow. These test were scheduled as a prerequisite for our visit to St. Vincent.

That is what I am afraid of…no st. Vincent since they canceled the testing tomorrow. I was in Jacques when it was announced about the testing and people applauded…do that not realize that it then means no St. Vincent. I asked reception about it and they don’t know anything.

also, during dinner several passengers walked around, going in and out and did not have their masks on and no one said anything to them.

Thank you the rock and roll bothers me more than engine vibration. We are planning to take the cruise no matter if the entertainment is lacking or they skip ports. Just hope O does not  cancel.

Good plan - as long as you go in with the expectation to "expect the unexpected", you'll have a great time.  We have no regrets about our trip.  Hope they keep things rolling, er, sailing, for you 🙂

We have been in 6084 on Regatta not obstructed unless you lean over the railing to look aft

did not bother us  we were on for 26 days

YMMV

Yep applause......unreal.

Grenada gone..... St Vincent gone (most likely) due to no tests that they require and Captain said we leave at 7pm tomorrow.  Currents says we leave at 7pm on the front page and 11 pm on the inside daily schedule tomorrow for St. Vincent? Reception just told me the 11pm "Sailaway" to St Vincent is a Bar on the Ship?  You can't make this sh** up!

We will be parked here 30 plus hours from when we got here this morning because I'm not sure we know where we are going next.

We are on day 17 of 24 as we head towards who knows where......

Taking in the beautiful views LOL.  For those about to cruise expect the unexpected.

Funny thing is I knew this would be a trip to try to pull 24 days off during this surge.......and it has been. From a quarantining next door neighbor to a complete trip change to now this leg which is starting to rock and roll with its own flavor with the entertainment regulars impacted to being unexpectedly parked here. As for the Crew God bless them they just keep smiling and delivering. I bid you goodnight with this beautiful view. Day 7 of this leg of our cruise is in the books.....halfway done.

Thanks!  I know the cleaning rigs are positioned aft and affect the panoramic view of the last B2 cabin on each side. But, I just wanted to make sure there’s nothing intruding on the view corridor of these next-to-last ones.

We prefer aft B2 cabins on R ships and aft extended balcony B3 on O ships.

I hear you!  My expectations were so low they have already been exceeded.  It is a trip though in more ways than one!

I just hope they are on "Island time" when they start banging on those containers in the morning!

Expectation is the thief of joy.

Tell those guys to take an extra coffee break!  At least it's not a 24-hour workplace.

For late night coffee, the bar at the casino is our go to spot.  Is the casino still closed?

if you are in a suite or concierge cabin, there are snacks and coffee in the lounges.  Are the executive and concierge lounges open?  If that isn’t open, room service delivers to any place on the ship.  You don’t have to be in your cabin to get room service.

You are having a great adventure with lovely food and a great view and great weather. it’s all good 🙂

Chin up, take one for the team and “endure” the unexpected with a glass in hand and a slab of lobster in the other 🙂

Some adventures and memories have to take an unexpected turn to become adventures and memories 🙂

Actually I don't think the morale from the Guests on the Ship is anything like you are describing and if my post sounded like complaining that  wasn't my intention.  It was laughing at pandemic cruising during this large surge
