At what time did you arrive for dinner?

Was it a table for 2 or a large group?

Arrived at 7pm. We were informed that the app had deleted our reservation. Only 2 people in our party but were willing to share a table so got right in. I have spoken to others on the ship whose meal lasted over 3 hours.

If they added an IC it is not shown in their deck plans. We sailed Island’s sister ship Coral in 2013 & they had a very small IC.

Oh, I'm well, well aware of the setup on Island.

I had a recent long civil discussion with a gentleman who swore up down left and right that Island had an IC added during drydock, that they had an entertainer friend aboard for the last two weeks already who confirmed it was there, etc. Adamant that an IC was aboard.

And several others who joined the discussion to confirm Island now has an IC.  Even pointing out the obvious - that there was no renovations done, that the deck plan didn't show it, that Princess had made no announcements, that there's quite very obviously literally nowhere to put it in the casino, etc made no difference.  They were all quite adamant that an IC went in, all evidence to the contrary be damned.

So, figured I'd ask and verify. And those aboard kindly responded and verified what was quite obvious, no IC was added.

Just following along as we are on the Caribbean Princess heading from SF to FTL. Have a great cruise and hopefully the Medallion issues for ordering drinks and receiving them in a reasonable amount of time will get corrected soon!!

2 hours to eat at that time of night isn't that uncommon since it is peak dining time,

3 hours is practically unheard of unless they were constantly talking during the meal, especially at a large table.

That's why we always eat at a table for 2. We can speed up the waiter to fit our schedule.

With the posted staff to passenger ratio on Page 1 of this thread, it doesn't make sense that the DR was so slow.  Do they have too many cabin stewards and not enough cooks and waiters?

Are specialty coffees / espresso available at Good Spirits...or anywhere else?

Coffee bar at the Horizon Court buffet.  Or use your medallion.  I ended up deleting the app and reinstalling and no problems so far.  Haven’t done it yet for my husband and his still has issues…like journey view never opening.

Thanks.  Nice to have that option close by at breakfast like the Royal class ships but it is a bit of a bummer that I'll need to trek all over first thing in the morning to savor that first cup in the Piazza!  I'm generally a fan of the Medallion app but with coffee I want to see it made and grab it while it's piping hot!

But if I understand you correctly and the espresso machine formerly in what was the Patisserie is now gone I do think it's very odd that there's no premium coffee/tea option in the Piazza, which Princess itself consistently promotes as the heart and hub of the ships.  Anyone who has cruised Princess on any class of ship knows that people go there to meet, hang out, listen to music and sip hot beverages day and night.  Relying on the medallion to order something as highly customized as premium coffee drinks (just google Starbucks memes!) is asking for trouble IMO.

At the meet and greet we all discussed the amenities we missed.  For me it is Vines.

Good Spirits has an expresso machine and you can get specialty coffees there.  The pastry selection is minimal as posted above.

I only drink one cup of coffee a day, so perhaps others on board can provide more advice as to specialty coffee ordering and availability.

Day 3: at sea.

Things are slowly getting better. Dinner last night was reasonable timing around an hour. Still no waiters taking verbal drink orders, but the app wait time is down to about 20 minutes. Main complaints are: ZERO hot tubs are open and stateroom temperature never gets "cool" and no water under 30C available in the showers.

Glad to hear things are beginning their turn towards the positive.

Cheers

On the Enchanted we never ordered anything using the app for the room but during the day when we were by the pool it always took around 20 minutes to get anything. The few times we got drinks delivered it might have took less time.

I though that was the typical time for receiving an order.

Now that could really get to my husband.

I'm sure you reported it. Is there any chance of switching cabins since the ship isn't filled?

We give verbal orders in the dining room and explorers.  The shower you just have to keep turning it to the left..I decided lukewarm was better than scalding.  No problems with the AC on midship Dolphin deck port side

Have they told you why the hot tubs are closed? Are they planning to open them?

Can anyone on board post each days Princess Patter?

Days one and two are above.  Day 3 below.  No idea why they aren’t vertical

Enchanted vs Island is night and day size wise

@PatriciaF Thank you doing this live! I will be on the island for the TA in a couple of weeks.

Is the buffet served or self serve?

Some items are pre plated and you pick them up yourself.  Salad bar, hot foods, desserts, breads all served

Very true but considering the number of available crew aboard the time to receive ordered items using the medallion should be somewhat similar.

20 minutes sounds about right except for room service.
