Free Drinks in Casino

It is a comp cruise but does not include drinks, tip, etc.  If we can get a glass or wine while playing before dinner that would help our "budget".  Usually have premium package so this is a new approach. We are Elite so will have drinks between 5-9 PM I understand.  As I said, never really paid attention to "free" drinks before.

Just be prepared. The free drinks in the casino isn’t even alcohol from the classic package. I was watching them make drinks with liquor I had never even heard of. Maybe they are trying to get rid of the liquor that they used when they had the standard package. Not sure. I just know that I couldn’t drink it. Glad I had the premium package

I must have really bad taste because I've been ordering drinks in the casino for years and I've never had a problem drinking it.  Good thing for me because I do not have the premium package.

So this brings up a question I have been trying to find the answer to.   I am traveling as a guest with my brother who has the cruise comped, and I cannot determine if always included means ALL    I may have to upgrade to the classic drink package if it is not included because I like my coffees.   If anyone can provide insight I would appreciate it.  Never been on a comped cruise before.

Remember, normal mixed drinks are made from the "well" alcohol, not the normal listed brands. If you want something specific, you need to ask and they will make it.

As a rule, a comped cruise does not come with the "Always included" gratuities, drinks or wifi.

Having said that, I don't know how high a roller your brother is, so perhaps they make exceptions.

It should say on his guest invoice if anything is included.

If you're traveling with your brother in the same cabin and he has Always Included then it's for both people in the cabin. Most comped cruises do not have always included but some offers do, so you need to verify this. You can call Blue Chip Club to verify.

We were recently on the Reflection TA with out a drink package (lift and shift).  We were not on a casino comp cruise.  When a server approached us were able to order free drinks while playing.  We never tried for anything fancy so don't know what limits are.  I did notice that they always asked for your room number,  I would say, "I thought drinks were free?" and they would reply that they are free IF you don't have a package so I assume they want to charge the drinks to package if they can.

They still have to create a transaction per drink for tipping purposes, tax purposes (when in port), inventory tracking, passenger drink amount tracking and probably another reason or two I'm missing.

I've never had a problem taking a break, walking to bar and ordering exactly what I want from the bartender.  However, on my last sailing unlike previous sailing they (casino bartender or casino drink staff) wouldn't let you have just a sugar free red bull without them pouring into a glass with alcohol.

This is very helpful.  I'm on the Millennium in a couple weeks on a casino comped cruise - first time on Celebrity.   I'm used to Royal where you can go up to the Casino Bar and get a free drink - which I like a lot. Wasn't sure how strict they are on "while you are playing" on Celebrity.  I play a lot, drink a lot, tip a lot so I figure it will all work out, but good to know the lay of the land in advance.

I'm always confused about this. I'm actively playing on a slot machine for hours yet even for a Ginger Ale they ask for my seapass card (which is obviously inserted in the slot machine on older ships) or my room number. What for??
