I'm interested in buying the 100 shares in stock, but I've never done anything like this before. Can anyone recommend a site for beginners? TIA

There are a good number of online brokers that will allow you to buy with no fees. I googled "online brokers for beginners" and it gave me decent results.

I've never gotten the stock OBC on carnival, but I only book casino rate rooms (IE only taxes and fees), but always get it on princess, which are also only casino rates.  Go figure!

I'm hoping that I can upgrade my room(s) on a couple of cruises and maybe get the onboard that way.  Oh well, stock has more than paid for itself after all the onboard I've gotten from princess.

This may not be a simple question to answer but how much $ do people have to run through a machine to get those kind of offers? I'm assuming a lot.

I limit myself to $100 per day.  If I spend it all the first day, I'm done for the cruise, if I don't spend it all, I'm ahead.

Story time!

10 day Alaskan cruise for hubs and I, casino rate round trip SF.  $800 total, not per person.  $200 onboard, free drinks in the casino.  I earned enough points for steakhouse dinner and a free massage.  Total cost with fare and casino $1800.

Friend booked the same room class, same cruise.  $3600 for 2.

I'll keep throwing money in the machines.

Totally understandable.  We bought 3 months ago for a really good price.  Should've did it 12 years ago before the first cruise.  Live and Learn.  I hope they extend it as well.

They always extend it; it is a marketing tool that basically costs the nothing.

I have T D Ameritrade also.  Was declined today, because we had a hugely discounted rate to $100pp for the 15 day journeys cruise out of NYC to Southern Carribean in September 2023.

Good day,

Thank you for submitting your request to apply the stockholder benefits. We appreciate the opportunity to be of assistance.

Please note, we are unable to process your request to apply the shareholder benefit with the referenced reservation J7X0V0.

In accordance with the terms of the shareholder onboard credit benefit, reservations with a reduced rate or a complimentary promotion do not qualify for the onboard credit; as well as guests cruising at travel agent rates or interline rates. While it may have been inadvertently accepted in the past, we are now adhering to the conditions of the shareholder program. We sincerely apologize for any disappointment this has caused and trust, that as a Carnival investor, you will understand our position in this matter. Please reference the attached document regarding the shareholder onboard credit benefit policy.

We hope that you will enjoy a fun and memorable cruise with us. Once again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, as we value your business and thank you for your continued support.

If you have an IRA or 401K you may be able to purchase the 100 shares through them. I have a Vanguard IRA and was able to purchase Carnival with no commission and have been enjoying the shareholder  benefit for a while now.

Sure would be nice to get the $250 OBC for the 15 day cruise we have in September 2023.  The website says it is only valid for cruises through July 31st at this time.   I shall wait.

I already got it for our Feb 2024 cruise….
