"Priority" not displaying on boarding pass

Boarding passes don't say Priority for lowly Platinums or even Diamonds these days. My boarding pass and luggage tags now say Diamond.

So, does this mean that Diamond & Platinum no longer get priority luggage?  Or that they are transitioning to this being the case in the near future?  Or just that Carnival can't get its s*!t together?

Maybe on some of the cruises (journeys, europe, etc.) there are so many platinums and diamonds that they don't put priority on the boarding pass???

 

I know on my Europe cruise only suites had priority boarding, but the platinums and diamonds did get to check in early. None of it ended up mattering because we were all stuck in a warehouse due to delays in disembarking because of traffic issues.

My question isn't based on the OP, but more upon the later posts that seem to suggest this change.

OK, we are also sailing out of Charleston next week and our boarding passes do not have "priority" on them either, but I am pretty sure it is because this is a "JOURNEYS" cruise.    There are so many people on the ship who are platinum and diamond that Carnival can't do priority boarding, from what I have read in other posts.   Anybody heard about this before?

We are traveling with Gold family members and they are linked to our reservation, so I will need to check them in two days from now.  Are they holding us back on getting the "priority" label?  

Someone just posted this exact same thing on our cruise group on another site. I’m in a suite and it has the red priority logo on my boarding pass. So do the Diamond cruisers. But platinum just says platinum. 
Seems strange?

Be interesting what they say if most have been free casino cruises.  😆

Wait - So are they going to make it where platinum no longer has priority boarding?  If so, I am going to be pissed because we are fixing to go platinum.

I don’t know? We have a suite and priority is on our luggage tags and boarding pass in big bold red letters. But the lady who was platinum’s did not have that. So I’m not really sure. Are the plantings people using the priority lounge or is it just Diamond/suites?  We’ll be on the MG in 2 weeks so I’ll report back.

@BlerkOnesaid above that the "priority" also was not showing up for diamonds.  Is that correct?  

 

Because if they are showing up on Diamond boarding passes but not platinum, my guess would be that Carnival plans to announce only diamonds will be getting priority boarding.  But if they aren't showing up for anyone other than suites, my guess is that it is just a tech issue.

I'm wheeling my bag on board but I hope I still get priority boarding after suites and diamonds.  And wedding parties.  I'll find out in 6 days🤷‍♀️

Is that a bag which will fit through their scanners? Is there a size limit?  I'd be happy to schlep up my 29" bag -- all 70+ pounds of it, but I can't recall seeing people with larger suitcases.

I have wheeled a medium suitcase on board.  I don't think it was 70+ pounds🤣 but my DH thinks we put it through the x ray machine.  I'll find out more in 6 days...

All three of our cruises on the Panorama in the last part of 2022 had boarding passes that did NOT say Priority on them as expected.  In most cases our boarding group was very low too (in the high "D" numbers).  Something is off.  The boarding passes did say "Diamond" next to our VIFP number and we were able to get in the priority lines as a result.  But boarding after check-in and security was delayed.

Just boarded the Freedom today. Luggage and boarding passes said Diamond, not priority. Dropped off our carry-ons as soon as we boarded, and when we went back to the cabin at 1:30, all our luggage was there. 😎
