Just booked a Thanksgiving cruise on the Pride...tell me it wasn't a mistake

So we just booked a Thanksgiving cruise on the Pride. I realize this is an older ship and doesn't have all the bells and whistles but it did work out well with price and destinations. Lately we've been on the Horizon, Magic and Mardi Gras so I hope this "step back" isn't bad. I guess I'm just looking for a little reassurance lol. We did get an extended balcony which should be nice (although I don't know what we will do with the extra room...maybe wind sprints or something hahaha)

I did miracle not Pride but same class. This class has the most space per pax. Less crowded.

I agree with the other poster- any vacation is what you make of it.

Also, as another mentioned, you're getting on a ship that just got out of a drydock at the end of May, so you're likely going to get just as good of an experience as any in terms of the overall condition of the ship.

Curious- what bells and whistles are you hoping the Pride has that others didn't? If there's something specific another ship offers that you enjoyed more, you could always try to transfer the deposit to another sailing.

I know we'll have a good cruise...I think it would take a lot to be a "bad" cruise. To answer your question, things like the sports square for the youngster, more dining options...that's mainly what I was referring to. I'm encouraged by the comments and some of the YouTube videos I've been watching as well as that it just got out of the dry dock.

We had done Mardi Gras for three cruises, then went on the Liberty.  I was a little concerned but it kind of felt like coming home.  Everything was so easy and familiar. I think you will enjoy it.

I've done 9 Thanksgiving cruises with the majority on the Spirit which is a sister to the Pride and they've all been so much fun.

The Spirit class ships are my favorite and I'm so glad I have sailed all four of them.

Have a great cruise!

We will be on our eighth Thanksgiving cruise this November!  Gotta love Carnival cooking instead of Mommy😉

We're booked on the Pride for this Thanksgiving too. I had hoped that the vista suites (we're in 4228) had been renovated during the dry dock... no dice. I spend some time in the casino, and I'm concerned, given the smaller footprint that the casino has (compared to larger ships), that smoke might be an issue.

So, I'm on the fence ...

You've been on Spirit Class ships before and they got rid of the casino bar, so don't know what your apprehension is.

I have not been on a Spirit class ship in easily 15 years. I've become less tolerant of second hand smoke with the passage of time. Obviously, I don't want to find myself in an uncomfortable situation. I'm guessing, as I said, that the sheer (limited) size of the casino precludes them from having distinct sections of smoking/non-smoking.
