sJust received an email from Blue Chip for complementary cruises(multiple choices on Eclipse through November.  I responded "no take on offer as vaping in casino is presently allowed".

You're declining a complementary cruise because of vaping in the casino?

Don’t know if everybody has seen this yet but I just found it on Cruise Critic under advice for new cruisers. Interesting article about vaping on cruise ships. Hopefully the link works.

As per the article even Carnival requires vapers to be seated and playing.. X has turned its Casino bars into vape zones..and some casinos and their bars  are open to main shopping / hallways  ugh!

I'm one of those who is so sensitive to them that I tend to smell smoke, vapors, fumes, aerosols, etc.  long before I see them, and I'm absolutely not trying to make this anyone's problem but mine: I deliberately avoid walking by the perfume shop onboard, even when it's closed. I've been known to walk through the casino on some ships to make this happen.

If vaping becomes fleet wide on X, I guess the casino won't be one of my chosen paths on my already booked cruises. I don't suppose that will bother them a bit, as the only time I ever play is when they put $5 on everyone's sea pass or I'm participating in a slot pull.

The next logical step toward enhancing revenue making gambling better for vapers is to make vaping better for gamblers. Really, Celebrity is missing half the equation!

Sign to be placed in the casino in the future: "PLAYERS! Free vaping lessons here!"

Yeah Celebrity will come up with its own line of vape oils.  Kind of like Celebrity Vineyards.  Maybe they will even leave a cartridge of Celebrity Vape Juice in your suite on check-in day.  Or order them on the website in advance of your cruise.🤪

I figure that the next step is Celebrity placing slot machines in the cabins and bars... 🙂

Let's go whole hog...slots and vape cartridge vending machines in every floor lobby, and add Keno runners in the OVC.

Now you have me imagining the Goop people choosing the flavors/aromas and naming them.

Imma go hide under a desk for a while.

You do know that won’t save you from vaping, right?

I just received my canned email response from corporate. It wasn’t even signed. Just says Sincerely, Executive Office.

Maybe we wore our welcome out. Let us know if you get a follow up phone call. All my correspondences have been signed and followed up by a phone call from the executive office.

It would be great to hear how many other Blue Chip cruisers feel the same way.  Celebrity claims they were asked to do this by their casino players.  Obviously Blue Chip cruisers are the most loyal casino players.  Would love to hear if anyone who is a higher level Blue Chip cruiser had ever expressed that desire to Celebrity?

Conversely, it would be interesting to hear from the majority of passengers who are not Blue Chip but frequent the casino to lose their money.

My wife and I were on the 7/16 sailing of the Eclipse.  While there were no physical signs as shown on previous Equinox cruises, this was in the rotation on the screen of every single slot machine:

There are no markings in the casino indicating what they consider to be the port side, since most of the casino is located on the starboard side of the ship, with shops and a main walkway on the port side.

Is the bar area on port side?

so the stench and vapings will go into the public hallway???   bad thinking!

There still is a port and starboard side inside of the casino.

Yes.  The casino bar is right next to the main Promenade walkway by the shops:

Also, *all* of the table games are on the starboard side.

Sure.  But when you are inside the casino, there is no clear delineation of what they consider to be the "port" side.  You could be technical and draw a line down the middle of the ship, but the casino isn't laid out to make that easy or obvious.

From your post #870 and my own experiences walking thru the casinos it's obvious to me. I guess you could always ask and look for the vapers/vapors.

Just for what it’s worth:  am currently on the Silhouette where baling is not allowed, theoretically anywhere, and have seen vaping both on desk and while seated in passageways.  Some weren’t even trying to be surreptitious about it.

I was on the same sailing, and saw this same thing on the display. What I did not see was one single person vaping in the casino.

I did see passengers sneakily huffing their vapes indoors in other places. I also saw two crew vaping, one of the hot glass guys in his work area, the other an officer in the crew area (on the tour).

I cant believe that there 35 pages of people saying they’re going to quit Celebrity over this policy. Which other cruise line will you go to? Which one has a truly non-smoking, non-vaping casino?

This problem would be solved if they chewed nicotine gum.  It’s about the impact on people around them.  Do people sitting near me get drunk when I’m sipping scotch?  I’m looking for the studies that say it’s safe for vaper and others around them.
