found ring on Navigator OTS

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!! Long shot posting here but I wanted to try. Please no negative comments and yes I am also in the process of reporting this to Royal Caribbean but unfortunately was told the office I need to talk to is currently closed.

We just got off the Navigator of the Seas and had a stateroom on the 9th floor. Most of our jewelry was loose in the safe and my daughter helped pack up when we got off the ship. As I am unpacking at home, I realized that there was a ring in the safe that wasn't ours and is probably a keepsake for someone else.

Please let me know if you happened to leave it behind. I am asking for a photo with proof that it is yours/description and proof that you were in that stateroom.

I also have this information posted as a public post on my Facebook page. I am sure the owner is heartbroken...so I am hoping we can get this back to its owner. ❤️

BS. Sorry, but who doesn't read the thread they're commenting in?

OP good on you for taking initiative to try and find the rightful owner.  I wish the person who has my Chanel j12 watch that I accidentally left in the safe would have done the same.  I would also follow up with the ship's lost and found department when they open to let them know that you have the ring just in case the owner makes an inquiry with them.  Good luck!

Again,  my 7 year old daughter helped pack everything in the stateroom. She has no idea what jewelry I packed so she would have no idea what was mine or not. When I unpacked today (they day after we got home) I saw it mixed it with various necklaces, earrings, etc. We were no longer on the ship and Guest Services is not an option. The ship is sailing out of LA and we live several states away.

I have seen multiple posts that people have issues getting items directly back from the cruise line. ...and judging by the ring I'm sure the individual already filed an insurance claim. So if I was a dishonest person I could just have pocketed it and call it a day. However I am an honest person and am posting in several places to hopefully contact the owner. I get it....there are skeptics out there and we live with many shady people in the world. The RC links I can find online only state "lost" items vs found. I was told when  I called the reservation number that the people I need to talk to are not currently open. All I can do is put myself in the position if I lost a ring like that and hope that someone would post about it someplace to try to find me. Since I currently have to wait to talk to someone at Royal Caribbean I decided to try to reach out through social media in the meantime and just maybe find the owner here.

Also, I don't post on these forums often so I'm  not sure if there is a better place that will receive more visibility.

Oh goodness I am so sorry about your watch! 💔 I hope that one day it turns up.  Is that lost and found directly on the ship vs the main RC one? Do you happen to know if they have an email address or does the main RC lost and found forward it on to the ship.

I'm afraid you have to go with the shoreside lost and found/customer service and from there, they will make contact with the ship.  Likewise, the person who left the ring would have to do the same thing.  I have no idea how efficient the process is in getting messages back and forth to the ship but I'm sure there's a form that is completed on their end as part of the process.  I'm betting things get left behind way more than we might imagine.  However, I think you social media approach is a good one.  You might also go over to the Roll Call board and see if you can find the roll call for the sailing before yours and post there as well...assuming it's still there.  I don't know how long they remain after a sailing.

Evidently not.  The OP didn't empty the safe themselves, which you would know if you had actually read the post.  🙄

We had sent our clothes out for the wash & fold. When we returned home, I realized that we had a Red 3XL T-shirt that didn't belong to us. DH said he thought it was mine. (Seriously?)

I called RC Lost & Found to see about returning it. I guess there is a lot of forgotten clothing, because they said they don't bother with it. It does actually make a good sleep shirt. ☺️

This is totally different than the people who take it home on purpose thinking they know better than the cruise line as to how to reunite it with the owner.  What I never get is how someone forgets a piece of jewelry, especially something that looks real.  I carry a zippered jewelry holder with individual zipper pockets inside.   I wear certain pieces daily and then switch out as needed.

Anyway, all op can do at this point. is contact Royal and report it

You might try to the Roll Call thread and/or social media for that sailing.

My process for jewelry was similar to you ours. To this day I remain baffled as to how I left my expensive watch behind in the safe. Now my approach is costume jewelry only.
